Battalion
A Battalion consists of four Companies under the direction of a Battalion Sergeant Major and a Battalion Commander.
A Battalion generally contains a minimum of 874 Marines.

Unit Composition
”A” Company
Consists of four Platoons, a First Sergeant, and a Company Commander.
”B” Company
Consists of four Platoons, a First Sergeant, and a Company Commander.
”C” Company
Consists of four Platoons, a First Sergeant, and a Company Commander.
H&S Company
Consists of four Platoons, a First Sergeant, and a Company Commander. The H&S Company is responsible for protecting the Battalion’s headquarters, and providing support operations such as repair, resupply, and search and rescue operations as needed.
Battalion Sergeant Major (SgtMaj)
Generally avoids combat, but like all Marines is armed with a P-1 Pistol and a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife at all times during combat operations. The Battilion Sergeant Major is responsible for coordinating the Companies, and assisting the Battalion Commander.
Battalion Commander (LtCol)
Generally avoids combat, but like all Marines is armed with a P-1 Pistol and a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife at all times during combat operations. The Battalion Commander provides leadership to the Battalion and the Companies that make it up. As an Officer, a Battalion Commander is expected to keep himself out of harm’s way.
