• The final selection for the captaincy of the Enterprise, NX-01 takes place between the Captains A.G. Robinson and Jonathan Archer. Admiral Maxwell Forrest gave the post to Archer, although Captain Gardner was originally considered the most suitable choice by Ambassador Soval.

• Travis Mayweather's father sends a letter to Archer strongly recommending his son for the helmsman position on the Enterprise.
