The Yeager-class Scout is a Star Fleet starship class, of scout type. The Yeager class ships is designed to go "very far, very fast, and not be noticed." Going "to the edge of nowhere and peek behind the curtains."

History

A replacement for the venerable Columbus class Scout, and a spiritual successor to the Nova class, the Yeager is a small yet modern ship capable of making relatively short duration missions. Star Fleet intends to use these ships in the large and still unexplored areas between Federation controlled space and on short-duration missions beyond the frontier. Missions would typically be staged out of Starbases and last up to one year, though usually less.

Only two were built before the Fleet Modernization Program began to introduce newer and more capable craft. Both were destroyed during the Attack on the Borg Megasphere.
