The USS SS ''Yeager'' is a starship in service in the Starfleet Federation Reserve Fleet, having officially been decommissioned and struck from the Starfleet registry in the late 2380s. ====2373-2403==== Construction of the ''Yeager'' began in the early 2370s in the prelude to the [[Dominion War]]; with the breakdown of the [[Khitomer Accords]], Star Fleet needed new combat-capable ships, and fast. With shipyards already constructing ships at a increased rate, primary hull construction for the Intrepid-class vessel soon outstripped supply of secondary hulls. As war loomed, the [[Star Fleet Corps of Engineers]] decided to utilise the surplus primary hulls to cobble together a class of ship designed to bolster the fleet quickly. As one of the original members of the "Frankenstein Fleet", the ''Yeager'' was constructed from the primary hull of an Intrepid-class Explorer and the scaled-up hull of a Ju'Day class Courier. This design gave the '''Yeager''' substantial forward firepower when combining the Ju'Day's phaser cannons with the Intrepid's own phaser arrays; the lack of aft-firing phasers was more than compensated for by the inclusion of the Ju'Day's own aft torpedo launchers, bringing the number of aft-firing launchers to four. The unorthodox design did, however, cause problems with warp field stability, and meshing the Bio-Neural systems of the Intrepid with the Isolinear systems of the Ju'Day made for some "interesting" quirks that were never truly worked out.

As the 25th century approached, the ''Yeager'' remained in service despite her age and unorthodox construction; now was eventually relegated to rear area duties and all-but forgotten even by the SCE personnel who had kept her operational well beyond her expected service life was over. Officially struck from the register and placed in mothballs, with the name reassigned to more modern starships, she the ''Yeager'' soon found herself crewed by reservists volunteers guarding the Federation Surplus Depot at [[Qualor II]]. Her fate, however, would soon be changed as a new crew were placed aboard, and a new mission assignedthe dawn of the 25th Century approached.

====2403 - Present==== The ''Yeager'' was hastily reactivated, although not recommissioned, in 2403 in order to conduct what was alleged to be an important medical supply run to a beleaguered world in what was once the Romulan Neutral Zone; assigned to Captain [[Braggins, Jennifer|Braggins]], who had found herself out of favour following the events of the Philadelphia's mission to [[Jateran]], the mission was soon discovered to be a set-up. Not only were the crew made up of the dregs of Starfleet, those officers and crew that no Captain in their right mind would want on their ship, illegal weapons had been stored on board, bound for separatist movements on the border. The ship had also been sabotaged so that it would drop out of warp and conveniently be discovered by Starfleet patrols in the area. With the deception discovered, the Yeager was repaired before it could be apprehended and the weapons were instead diverted to a local group of Fenris Rangers where Braggins had contacts. For the next six weeks, the ''Yeager'' operated in the territories along the Romulan and Cardassian borders; escorting convoys, conducting anti-piracy patrols, and responding to emergency situations both large and small. Eventually the worst of the misfit crew were rotated off the ''Yeager'', and the crew readied themselves for more important missions along the border area. These more important missions never materialised, however, and the Yeager crew was slowly siphoned away to other assignments while the ship continued to conduct nonessential rear-area duties. =====Theft===== On Stardate 202311.25, the ''Yeager'' was undergoing standard maintenance at Outpost Gamma-7. With the majority of the crew on leave, the ship was commandeered by Braggins and a handful of crew from both the ''Philadelphia'' and the ''Yeager''. This was done as part of [[Operation Ursa Major]], and when the ''Yeager's'' part of the operation was complete, it was returned to normal duties. ===Last Known Crew Manifest===
