This template provides the header of the “Career History” section of all STAR FLEET PERSONNEL COMMAND files; that is, biographies.

(You might be looking for Template:CHLineTest; that is, the template that provides each line of the “Career History” section of biographies.)

To make use of this Template:CHHeadTest header template, the biography must include the following line within its |CHist= section:

{{CHHeadTest|Character Name|UFP}}

Note that the character’s actual name must replace “Character Name.” To avoid display errors because of color, try one of two things: (1) Do not include double square brackets along with the character’s name. (2) Leave “UFP” blank, like this: {{CHHeadTest|Character Name|}}, for a neutral color.

Note that “UFP” here simply determines the header’s color, and should reflect the character’s affiliation—not the character’s species—and the appropriate one of the following should replace it:

See Template:CHHead Color.

First Header

Note that the first header should immediately follow the |CHist= line, without additional space between them, as illustrated, below:

|CHist=
{{CHHeadTest|Character Name|UFP}}

Additional Headers

Additional headers, if necessary, should be between “Career History” lines, without additional space between them, as illustrated, below:

{{CHLineTest
|Location={{USS|Yeager|FSC|28018}}
|Assignment=Science Officer
|Stardate=21509.01
|StardateEnd=
|Event=Ensign
|Text=
|Department=Science
}}
{{CHHeadTest|Character's New Name|UFP}}
{{CHLineTest
|Location={{USS|Yeager|FSC|28018}}
|Assignment=Science Officer
|Stardate=21509.18
|StardateEnd=
|Event=Role Player of the Month
|Text=
|Department=Science
}}

A Note About Previous Characters

It may be preferable to avoid the use of additional headers and then to copy and paste the career history of one character into the biography of another character’s career history. Rather, make use of the “Previous Character” line, within the {{Biography}} section of the biography:

|PreChar=Name

Note that the previous character’s actual wiki name, for example: Schwicker, Johan, should replace “Name.” To avoid display errors because of double square brackets, do not include double square brackets along with the previous character’s name. For multiple previous characters, include the “Previous Character” line in each biography until the first biography, which will have no “Previous Character” line.
