Tekna is a Federation Mining Planet mining planet, rich in high -demand heavy metals. Throughout the years the controller of the planet had gone back and forth but it became a Federation planet officially after the Dominion War. Full scale mining began shortly after that, which ever since has yielded in high profit for the Federation. Currently it is home to over 5 million people.
