Star Base 2 is a Star Fleet star base. It is a Deep Space K-7-type station, that was well known as being a well equipped and staffed medical facility.

Historical significance

In 2269, Commander Spock suggested taking Doctor Janice Lester to Starbase 2 instead of Benecia colony.
