Following the loss of the Omega-2 research station, the Star Fleet Science Institute reorganized the way it handled research projects. Oversight of those projects which were deemed dangerous or potentially dangerous was assigned to a special research team (SRT). Each SRT would be composed of a group of proven, multidisciplinary scientists. Their job, in addition to monitoring the project, would be to respond to the situation in the event that things got out of control. A list SRTs can be found below.
