A minor [[planet ]] is an astronomical object in direct orbit around the Sun (or more broadly, any [[star ]] with a planetary system) that is neither a planet nor exclusively classified as a [[comet ]] or [[asteroid]]. Minor planets can be dwarf planets and larger orbiting asteroids. They can maintain their own individual and unique solar [[orbit]], or they could also be found among asteroids in an asteroid belt.
There are seven classifications:
