P-1 Pistol
Description
The P-1 Pistol, by Andorian Arms Inc., is the accompanying side-arm to the corporation's PR-1 Assault rifle. The P-1 was issued to all officers, pilots, vehicle crewman, and crew-served weapon crews in the Star Fleet Marine Corps. Though no longer in official use by Star Fleet, the P-1 remains the sidearm of choice for Special Forces Operators and some Security Special Weapons Teams due to its versatility and ease of use.
Like the PR-1, the P-1 is a kinetic energy weapon and represents a "brute force" approach that Star Fleet does not usually train its officers to engage in. Operation of the weapon is not taught at Star Fleet Academy, and the weapon is only assigned to Star Fleet Security Special Weapons teams or members of Special Operations Command. Though the P-1 can be equipped with nonlethal ammunition like "Shock Rounds" for training scenarios or situations deemed too risky for live ammunition, the PR-1 is only usually issued in situations where lethal force is expected to be required.
