|Parents=Alive, on Earth. Living at a farm in Scotland, Father was a Starfleet officer, and while his dreams were to rise to the rank of Admiral, his dreams were crushed when he was relieved from Starfleet for repeat regulation violations. He hopes Jake could accomplish what he never did.
|Pets= One Cat, male, named Miles
|Friends=David Gunter, aged 23. They were best friends, at neighbouring farms. Separated when David chose to stay back on the farm, while Jake went to the Academy. David still keeps in contact with Jake to this day, although they are not so close anymore.
He got into the Academy via a visiting Starfleet officer in his village. His time at the Academy, however, was far more interesting than any of his previous experiences. He was a very punctual student, and loved taking walks through the academy campus. He did find it hard to make friends, but nevertheless got through the academy exams with flying colors.
Before he left for Starfleet academy, though, his father gave him the family heirloom: A Starfleet Type 1 Phaser circa 2260. It was a family heirloom that, according to his great grandfather's will, was given to each and every young man or woman who joined Starfleet. In order to continue on with this tradition, Jake tried, and successfully brought it on board, and hid it in his quarters, hoping to this day no one would know and find out about it, seeming as it might be a violation of Starfleet regulations.
