The Argrathi are a humanoid species , native to the planet Argratha in the Gamma Quadrant planet Argratha. They are experts at mind alteration Their government is known as the "Argrathi Authority."  The primary star in this system is a G-class star.   As a form of punishment, the Argrathi have been known to implant false memories of incarceration into the minds of convicted criminals. The process is irreversible, and is tailored to each individual prisoner. The Argrathi claim that this punishment, due to its tailoring, makes it more efficient and use advanced technology effective than maintaining a real prison system.  During a visit to Argratha in 2372, Miles O'Brien was accused of espionage by the Argrathi, due to implant his curiousity about their prisoners' minds technology. He was subsequently implanted with fictional events the memories of twenty cycles of imprisonment. Once Starfleet was contacted, he was freed, offering [what the officer thought of as ] a form of hollow apology. Officer O'Brien suffered acute PTSD due to the Argrathian punishment.

The Caldonians are a humanoid species native to their homeworld of Caldonia. They are characterized by their tall stature, large cranium, three-fingered hands and dark brown skin.
Caldonians are committed to pure research and have built their reputation around that dedication. They are wary of things which distract from most recognized by their research, such as administrative demandstall frames and large craniums.
In 2366, the Caldonians were one of several species that negotiated for rights to the Barzan wormhole. Leyor was sent as their representative to talks held aboard the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D. They were bought out by Devinoni Ral, who represented the Chrysalians. Ral brought up the tremendous amount of administration which would be needed to manage the wormhole and the high amount of traffic it would experience, which the Caldonians felt they were unable to handle. Commander William T. Riker, representing the Federation in Doctor Mendoza's absence, wanted to acquire their bid of Trillium 323, but the substance had been purchased by Ral before the Caldonians announced their withdrawal. Ral used the material to his advantage during the continuing negotiations between the Chrysalians, the Ferengi, and the Federation.
clearTheir large skull protect their advanced brains, which is accredited to their great intelligence and problem-solving abilities. Caldonians also have three-fingered hands, which are dexterous and can be used for fine manipulation of objects. This species' society values pure research, and intellectual pursuits above anything else. They are highly wary of things that distract them from research, such as administrative demands. They are proud of their academic reputation, and have been known to go to great lengths to upkeep that reputation as individuals and as a whole. They have a deep respect for knowledge, and are always eager to learn new things.

The Karemma are a humanoid civilization native to the Gamma Quadrant planet Karemma. They are also members of the Dominion. Relations between the Karemma and the Alpha Quadrant were first established by the Ferengi in 2370, for the purchase of tulaberry wine. clear
Physically, Karemma are tall and slender with black or dark brown hair that is combed back. They have a head ridge, like Klingons, but smoother and without edges. The head ridge goes down, and over the nose. The ridge can be slightly seen to the chin of a Karemma. As a result of this ridge, their nose looks very large. Karemma have normal eyes that are gray, black or brown. The nose is quite large in the lower end. It is very broad and one line in the skin on each side of their nose is pointing downwards to the outer sides of their face.

In 2371, Federation representatives aboard the USS Defiant NX-74205 came together with First Minister Ornithar of the Karemma in an attempt to contact the Founders. The meeting was arranged by Quark, who had previously negotiated the tulaberry wine trade. Ornithar admitted that the only contact the Karemma had with the Founders was through their representatives, the Vorta. He did direct the Defiant crew to Callinon VII, where they had been instructed to send all inquiries.

In the following year, the Karemma began conducting trade with the Federation, exporting goods such as Karemman fleece. The Ferengi acted as neutral intermediaries, although they unfairly gouged the Karemma with fabricated taxes and tariffs. In 2372, a Karemman starship commanded by Hanok met with the Defiant to discuss their complaints about the trade duties. During the meeting, the ships were intercepted by two Jem'Hadar. All four ships entered the atmosphere of a gas giant, where the Defiant was able to destroy the Jem'Hadar ships and rescue the crew of the Karemman ship.

This species is distinct in that they have an odor via skin excretions, which change in intensity with the individual's mood.

Paradans are experts in creating machines they call "replicants," biological duplicate of a real person that can be programmed to complete specific tasks. These inventions were used during a civil war among their people which started in 2358. To at least the early 2370s, this race was engaged in a civil war due to undocumented reasons.

In the mid-22nd centuryCentury, the Jem'Hadar infected the Teplans with a Blight that was incurable.   The terrible disease infected everyone, including children who were still in the womb. Most people died from the Blight, with few infected children able to reach adulthood. The final stage of the disease was incredibly painful, as the Blight "quickened" and destroyed their body.  After generations of these conditions, their technology had been all but lost, with their population declining at a dangerous rate. Their culture became obsessed with death, and the easing of pain, rather than any kind of forward progress. Any medical professional that remained were only able to offer little more than relief from the pain of Quickening and a clean, warm bed to die in.  In 2372, Doctor Julian Bashir was able to develop an inoculation that would prevent future generations from catching the Blight.

Tosk, a name which means "The Tosk Hunted", are a race of reptilian-humanoidspecies that had no personal designations (names). <br>The Tosk's from the Gamma Quadrantsolar system had a K-Class star, with a magnitude of +9.   This species was bred and trained to be prey animals in a ritual hunt for a species whose names were only known as the "Hunters." The Hunters would track, capture, and ritualistically kill the Tosk, and it was said that the Tosk were only sentient because the Hunters made them so. To a Tosk, the purpose and meaning of life was to outsmart and escape a Hunter or Hunters and live to see another day. The Tosk culture became pride in escaping the Tosk, and then dying with honor by a Tosk hand. In Hunter society, Tosk were seen as valued, and were treated with respect and admiration.   Tosk have the ability to make themselves invisible to the naked eye, though they could still be 'seen' via sensors. They posses great agility, and only required 17 minutes of rest per day to be refreshed. Liquid nutrients could be stored in plasmic fibers located throughout their bodies. Somehow, they were able to understand the mechanics of engineering, and had ships that could travel in space.
They are bred and trained to become the quarry in a ritual hunt for another race, known as the Hunters. Tosk are only sentient because the Hunters made them this way (this implies a degree of genetic engineering on their part). The meaning of life for a Tosk is to outsmart the Hunters for another day. The only greater dishonor for a Tosk than being captured and returned to their home planet alive is to seek protection from another race. They take an oath of silence regarding the hunt preventing them from even talking about it with anyone else. The Tosk are treated with respect and admiration by the Hunters.
When a Tosk are well equipped to outsmart their huntersencountered a species that was not a Tosk or Hunter, presumably to make the hunt as exciting they were often nervous and interesting for the Hunters guarded, as possiblethere was no trust or understanding between them. A farewell of respect from a Tosk can make themselves invisible to the naked eye (although, sensors can still locate consists of them, and grasping the Hunters have a device in recipient's upper arms with their helmets hands and wishing that can scan for them). They also have great agility and only require 17 minutes of rest per rotation. They may or may not require food or drink as Tosk have liquid nutrients stored in plasmic fibers throughout , when their bodiestime comes, though it is unknown how these nutrients are initially created/taken inthey die with honor.
In 2369, a Tosk became the first visitor to the Alpha Quadrant through the Bajoran wormhole. He was convinced to dock at Starbase Deep Space 9 for repairs. The Tosk's ship was a one-person vessel, with standard systems, which enabled Chief O'Brien to repair his ship easily. O'Brien later helped the Tosk evade the Hunters, to retain his honor, rather than be captured alive.
