The Karemma are a humanoid civilization native to the Gamma Quadrant planet Karemma. They are also members of the Dominion. Relations between the Karemma and the Alpha Quadrant were first established by the Ferengi in 2370, for the purchase of tulaberry wine.
Physically, Karemma are tall and slender with black or dark brown hair that is combed back. They have a head ridge, like Klingons, but smoother and without edges. The head ridge goes down, and over the nose. The ridge can be slightly seen to the chin of a Karemma. As a result of this ridge, their nose looks very large. Karemma have normal eyes that are gray, black or brown. The nose is quite large in the lower end. It is very broad and one line in the skin on each side of their nose is pointing downwards to the outer sides of their face.
In 2371, Federation representatives aboard the USS Defiant NX-74205 came together with First Minister Ornithar of the Karemma in an attempt to contact the Founders. The meeting was arranged by Quark, who had previously negotiated the tulaberry wine trade. Ornithar admitted that the only contact the Karemma had with the Founders was through their representatives, the Vorta. He did direct the Defiant crew to Callinon VII, where they had been instructed to send all inquiries.
In the following year, the Karemma began conducting trade with the Federation, exporting goods such as Karemman fleece. The Ferengi acted as neutral intermediaries, although they unfairly gouged the Karemma with fabricated taxes and tariffs. In 2372, a Karemman starship commanded by Hanok met with the Defiant to discuss their complaints about the trade duties. During the meeting, the ships were intercepted by two Jem'Hadar. All four ships entered the atmosphere of a gas giant, where the Defiant was able to destroy the Jem'Hadar ships and rescue the crew of the Karemman ship.

Tosk are only sentient because the Hunters made them this way (this implies a degree of genetic engineering on their part). The meaning of life for a Tosk is to outsmart the Hunters for another day. The only greater dishonor for a Tosk than being captured and returned to their home planet alive is to seek protection from another race. They take an oath of silence regarding the hunt preventing them from even talking about it with anyone else. The Tosk are treated with respect and admiration by the Hunters.
This species was bred and trained to be prey animals in a ritual hunt for a species whose names were only known as the "Hunters." The Hunters would track, capture, and ritualistically kill the Tosk, and it was said that the Tosk were only sentient because the Hunters made them so. To a Tosk are well equipped , the purpose and meaning of life was to outsmart their hunters, presumably and escape a Hunter or Hunters and live to make see another day. The Tosk culture became pride in escaping the hunt Tosk, and then dying with honor by a Tosk hand. In Hunter society, Tosk were seen as exciting valued, and interesting for the Hunters as possiblewere treated with respect and admiration.   Tosk can have the ability to make themselves invisible to the naked eye (although, though they could still be 'seen' via sensors can still locate them, and the Hunters have a device in their helmets that can scan for them). They also have posses great agility , and only require required 17 minutes of rest per rotationday to be refreshed. They may or may not require food or drink as Tosk have liquid Liquid nutrients could be stored in plasmic fibers located throughout their bodies. Somehow, they were able to understand the mechanics of engineering, though it is unknown how these nutrients are initially created/taken and had ships that could travel inspace.   When a Tosk encountered a species that was not a Tosk or Hunter, they were often nervous and guarded, as there was no trust or understanding between them. A farewell of respect from a Tosk consists of them grasping the recipient's upper arms with their hands and wishing that, when their time comes, they die with honor.
In 2369, a Tosk became the first visitor to the Alpha Quadrant through the Bajoran wormhole. He was convinced to dock at Starbase Deep Space 9 for repairs. The Entity functioned as a giant electromagnetic collector and needed constant power, converting organic matter into energy. Once the Entity ravaged a planet, its natural resources were completely stripped. No further life would be able to grow for many years. Everything, including vegetation and bacteria, was completely converted. Bitrious matter was usually deposited in the Entity's wake, as were elevated levels of hydrocarbons, lanthanides, and nitrates. The Entity was unable to penetrate rock lined with both kelbonite and fistrium. Both metals needed to be present in order to refract the Entity's absorption power. The shields of a Galaxy starship were also impervious to the Entity. Dr. Kila Marr was one of the Federation's foremost experts on the Crystalline Entity, studying twelve attack sites including Forlat III.
The Entity, to which thousands of deaths are attributed, attacked the planet Omicron Theta in 2336, stripping all living material from the entire colony and killing many inhabitants, including Raymond Marr, Kila MarrThis species's son. Enterprises shields were enough to protect it from the Entity, and Lore was eventually transported into space. The Crystalline Entity retreated to parts unknownwhich contains a premaxilla bone.
In 2368They rely primarily on trade as a method of survival, the Crystalline Entity destroyed the fledgling colony and put great emphasis on Melona IVmaintaining good relations with their buyers. Two colonistsConsequently, including Carmen Davila, were lost in even an accusation of wrongdoing can end the attack. Most career of the colonists survived, thanks to a cavern lined with kelbonite and fistrium. The Enterprise rescued the survivors and brought Dr. Marr to the planet so she could further study the attack. She worked with Lieutenant Commander Data in order to develop a technique to communicate with the creaturean Entharan trader.
The Enterprise intercepted the Entity after it had killed the entire crew of a freighter, the Kallisko. They attracted the Entity by emitting graviton pulses at 10 per second from the Enterprise, as lower pulse rates had no effect on the creature. The creature approached the Enterprise, replying with a series of graviton pulses that the Enterprise crew interpreted as meaningful, but which it needed time to decode. Marr increased the pulse rate, eventually trying a continuous graviton emission. The Entity stopped emitting pulses of its own as the emissions drove it into resonance. The Enterprise crew tried to stop the emissions, only to find that Marr had isolated the access code for the emission controls. Before the crew could halt the emissions, the resonance shattered the Entity.

Although they are corporeal, they use technology to exist in a collective dream state. They broadcast this collective dream into the surrounding space and used it to trap starship crews in a shared dream. The crews then eventually perished as their bodies lacked consumption of food and water. This seemed to be a defensive measure although it may have been a method of attack. It is also unknown if this species operated real starships, because any seen in the dream state may have been illusionary.

The Kobali are Until the mid-24th century, the Mari society was violent and crime was a major issue on their world. This was primarily caused by violent instincts being passed from one person to another via humanoid Delta Quadranttelepathy species. They are warp-capable with a technology level comparable This is similar to that of the problems experienced by the Star FleetVulcan. Their medical knowledge is more advanced, however, as they can reanimate someone who is dead for more than two weeks. Kobali also have high regards for every life which is honored by the saying s before Surak 'Never harbor anger towards those who have brought you death for they gave you the chance to live agains revolution.'
Kobali do not procreate To solve this problem, the Mari outlawed violent thoughts and developed a memory adjustment technique to get offspring like other species; they salvage dead sentient life forms which they reanimate. Over remove the offending engrams from a period of several months the criminal's mind (see DNAEngramatic Purge of the reanimated life form ). By their system, any crime is altered caused by means of a genetic pathogen that converts most of the DNA into a Kobali protein structure. These biochemical changes affect every part of person who originally had the body, leaving only trace amounts of the original DNA. After this he or she violent thought and it is their mind that is given an Kobali name and placed in a Kobali family to help them acclimatealtered.
Reanimating is the most important Kobali custom Although violent thoughts had apparently been eradicated, a black market arose in which can be of conflict with other species burial customs people sold violent thoughts to allow others to experience dark emotions. This remained a relatively harmless practice until 2374 when they occasionally meet. Reanimation causes extensive memory loss and some people will remember parts a thought harvested from B'Elanna Torres of their former life, better known as kyn'steya. There are people who remember the USS Voyager proved so much violent that it will force them to escape in search of their former lifeits hosts became unstable. They will be searched for by other Kobali to return them homeAs a result, one Mari individual was badly beaten and another murdered before the culprits were caught and the black market and outlawed thoughts was uncovered.
Kobali physiology differs from humans. They have a six-lobed brain and a binary cardiovascular system. The Kobali form cannot be reversed because there is not enough original DNA present after the alteration to do this. It isNeelix described Mari women as, however"beautiful, possible to change a person's appearance by inaprovaline injectionfascinating, which needs to be repeated to maintain the life form's previous appearance. This only helps for a short period of time because the Kobali genetic pathogen will undo the changes. There is not much variety in the Kobali diet; their main food looks like gray paste. When tasting other foods like a Jibelian berry salad, it will have a metallic flavor to them. Kobali made first contact with Humans in 2376 via the starship USS Voyager when they were searching for a Kobali who escaped her family in search of her former life. This contact did not proceed smoothly, but fortunately hostilities ended before they escalated. This is the only contact that the Kobali have had with Star Fleetand very open-minded."

They discovered an ancient field reactor at the center of the ocean, and learned that the Kradin claim Moneans' oxygen refineries were increasing the ocean's density, forcing the reactor to divert energy from containment to its own structural integrity field. From their findings, Riga recommended that the Vori are Moneans immediately reduce their rate of oxygen extraction, while Voyager offered to share replication technology so they would no longer have to remove it from the water. However, the Monean bureaucracy was reluctant to make such sweeping changes. Riga and Paris, acting against orders, attempted to take matters into their own hands by destroying the aggressors oxygen refineries, but again there is little evidence for thisthey were stopped by Voyager.

The RamuransSky Spirits are a warp -capable species humanoid race from Ramura in the Delta Quadrant. They possess advanced cloaking and weather control technology, but also maintain a deep affinity with nature.
PhysicallySome 45, 000 years ago, the Sky Spirits visited Earth on generational ships. There they are encountered a group of primitive humanoidhumans , who release a unique pheromoneshared their respect for the land and its creatures. This affects other speciesTherefore, preventing the Sky Spirits gave them a genetic gift that imparted in them from remembering encounters with the Ramurans for more than a few hoursspirit of curiosity and adventure. Due to technological enhancementsThese Inheritors then spread through North and South American continents, they are also immune giving rise to most forms of scanning technology (including tricorders)many Native American tribes such as the Rubber Tree People.

In fact, the Inheritors had survived, many by scattering and assimilating into other societies. Into the 24th century, some had spread onto other planets.
As a consequence of their obsession with maintaining a covert society, it is illegal for a Ramuran to try to leave. Any who do are hunted by the tracers. This force often acts in secret but will work with others if forcedIn 2372, relying on their technology and natural ability to fade from memory. Once a fugitive is captured, they use a neurolytic emitter to remove the subject's memories of the outside world. They were first encountered by the USS Voyager in 2374. A tracer named Kellin crept on board the ship while hunting a fugitive but was discovered by Lieutenant Commander Chakotay. Having explained her situation, the crew aided in the capture homeworld of the escaped RamuranSky Spirits while searching for polyferranide. During this time Kellin and Chakotay developed a relationship but when her mission was complete, Kellin left At first the ship and faded from memory. Unable to stop thinking of ChakotaySky Spirits hid themselves, she returned a month later and requested political asylum on the ship. This was duly granted and Chakotay began summoning powerful electrical storms in an attempt to love her again, despite not remembering their previous encounterdrive them away. When a cataclysmic war about 500,000 years ago ripped away their planet's atmosphere, Sargon and ten others chosen from both warring factions transferred their consciousnesses into spherical storage devices kept in a vault far beneath the surface. Sargon, his wife Thalassa, and Henoch, of the opposing faction, were eventually the only survivors - the other eight essences ceased to exist and their receptacles were dark. They were not true noncorporeal beings in that they required a receptacle to house their consciousnesses.
In 2268, Sargon detected the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) Their language was so complex and summoned her to the planet. The one drawback was that the presence of such powerful consciousnesses in translating it proved extremely difficult by using a standard HumanFederation bodies accelerated the metabolism to dangerously high levelsuniversal translator. The Trabe did not reveal the truth regarding their oppression of the Kazon, Irina and other governments did not intervene for fear of losing trade opportunitiesJoxom.
In 2346, Jal Sankur united the Kazon sects in rebellion against their Trabe oppressors, forcing them to flee their homeworld. The various sects took control of much of the Trabe space fleet, using it for their own ends, and soon began fighting amongst themselves once again, but they remained united in preventing the Trabe from finding a new homeworld.
In 2372, attempts by Captain Kathryn Janeway of the Federation starship USS Voyager to form an alliance with one or more Kazon sects led to her forming such an alliance with the Trabe instead. The Trabe leader, Mabus, proposed a bolder plan, one that would bring peace between Voyager, the Trabe, and the Kazon. However, after many of the Kazon sect leaders met for a peace conference, Mabus made an attempt to assassinate all of them in one move, aiming to decapitate the Kazon Order and leave the Trabe unopposed in finding a new homeworld. This plan failed when Voyager fired upon the Trabe ship attacking the conference, forcing it to quickly withdraw. Janeway dissolved their alliance shortly after.
