In 2372, attempts by Captain Kathryn Janeway of the [[Federation]] starship USS ''Voyager'' to form an alliance with one or more [[Kazon]] sects led to her forming such an alliance with the Trabe instead. The Trabe leader, Mabus, proposed a bolder plan, one that would bring peace between ''Voyager'', the Trabe, and the [[Kazon]]. However, after many of the [[Kazon]] sect leaders met for a peace conference, Mabus made an attempt to assassinate all of them in one move, aiming to decapitate the [[Kazon]] Order and leave the Trabe unopposed in finding a new homeworld. This plan failed when ''Voyager'' fired upon the Trabe ship attacking the conference, forcing it to quickly withdraw. Janeway dissolved their alliance shortly after.
