Orri was born into a small Icelandic merchant family. His parents had big ideas of trading and becoming rich throughout the galaxy and making their name known far and wide, maybe even feared – especially by the Ferengi. With such a grandiose plan, Mari and Javin expected their children to chip in to support the big dream, but this was not to be the case. Orri was given very little emotional support from his parent as he grew up as they spent all their time and money on trading and seemingly dead end deals to get in the free market. Because of this Orri became a social outcast with virtually no true friends to speak of and no protection from the inevitable bullying that was to come from his inexperience and lack of understanding amongst is peers – his parents simply saw this as Orri being weak and decided to focus more on Orri’s sister Jen who, despite not supporting the big Kórosenn dream, was more streetwise and outgoing. Orri’s only proper friend Margrét comforted him when he needed it and it seemed that this alone was enough to assure him that not everyone was against him. Shortly after, Orri discovered Buddhism and believed strongly in its views and traditions.
A few years passed and by the time Orri had reached his early 20s he had reached the peak of fitness and resilience that he had so sorely needed when he was young. However, this had come at a price. During this time he had become almost power hungry and his emotional awareness had deadened leading to cockiness, arrogance and the desire to be the best at everything regardless of what was required to obtain it. Without realising, Orri had become the very thing he had hated so many years ago, also leaving his previous beliefs from Buddhism behind. He saw compassion and kindness as weakness and vulnerability. Orri had suppressed his internal feelings and now allowed anything to be bottled up inside, leading to a strong and seemingly unwavering mentality on the outside, but a hollow and weak inside which was not allowed to be shown at any times to other people. With limitless megalomania, Orri strived towards his next objective – Star Fleet – where he was going to be the best and make sure everyone knew it.
===[[USS Dauntless, BC-1553]]===
Upon the USS Dauntless, Orri’s arrogant and reckless nature led him to become more of a liability, than the effective officer he had hoped to become. This was reflected in a disastrous training mission, where he had eliminated the ringleaders of the hostilities as well as all of the hostages. Following this was a rescue mission, where Orri’s arm as nearly blown off. However, he let none of these mishaps and obvious mistakes shake his pride.
Over time, Orri slowly learnt to live with the empathy that had been introduced to him. His actions were always going to be fast and effective, and occasionally reckless or endangering. But the small scar of his right palm which will always remind him that he had some form of meaning that was not going to be found through violence, heroism and courage. With this more appropriate attitude in place and in conjunction with saving his Chief’s life, Orri was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and assigned as a Chief of Security upon the USS Yeager. Orri had spent just over two years upon the Dauntless. Now 27, Orri left the only two people he could have ever even considered his friends.
===[[USS Yeager, SC-8018]]===
Orri’s progression onto the Yeager left him alone, but with the power of a Department Head in his hands. He had plans to create an efficient squad out of the mere 7 officers or so that served under him. Orri wasn’t going to let the numbers waver his resolve. Orri would soon be known for his brutally fast actions and perhaps dangerous orders. However, he would never forget the lessons that Alex and Ben had taught him.
Upon the USS Yeager, his security officers had learned to serve him through fear rather than respect. It was clear that the fresh security chief, despite having much potential, was still incapable of leading. Orri found he couldn’t inspire respect in his officers, only fear from intimidation. Without his old friends’ guiding hands, Orri struggled with his new found power. He found himself once again slipping into recklessness, where he should have been developing caution. The lack of a mentor figure led to Orri’s suspension after the unauthorised interrogation of an unarmed prisoner. Once again, he had been too quick to act and too slow to think. Charged with the direct violation of orders, Orri became disillusioned with star fleet and the chain of command. Without anyone to hold him in place, he decided to leave, abandoning his post and position as chief of security.
===Soldier of Fortune===
Disillusioned with Star Fleet, and more importantly, losing faith in his ability as a leader, Orri decided to make his fortune travelling the galaxy as a mercenary. Now 30, he considered returning home, to the Kórosenn Merchants and his parents. However, he believed he couldn’t face them like this, after rising so far and falling further, he felt he would only be a disappointment. He did however join with his older sister Jen, now a freelance engineer. Together they invested their credits into a stout ship, The Pincer, with a skeleton crew, hiring a variety of characters to join their mercenary group. Things began well, with the group successfully completing a wide range of jobs and raking in the credits.
Yet as time dragged on, the crew they had hired in earnest decided it would be much more profitable with Orri and Jen out of the picture. With the lure of a ship and all the valuable cargo within, the once loyal crew took Jen hostage in order to bargain her life with Orri. Faced with betrayal and his sister’s life hanging in the balance, he for once listened to caution rather than the fury that burned in his heart. Giving up The Pincer and all his wealth, Orri and Jen escaped aboard their shuttlecraft. Reflecting on the incident, Orri saw a lot of his old self in the mercenaries that had betrayed him. They were arrogant, violence, bullish and above all they answered to nobody. He realised then the value of authority, and the responsibility that comes with being a leader.
===The Return to Star Fleet===
The shuttlecraft only had a limited range and they were forced to land on the nearest planet in the Arachnid Nebula, New France. Jen found herself an engineering position helping to improve the agriculture on the planet. However, Orri found nothing for him there and finally decided to bid farewell to his sibling, and travel to his home – Iceland, Earth.
