|History=Born in the northern territory of Elehu, which had been part of the Nn’Verih ship bloc nation. The first child of his parents, Vaelim and Paliana he had a good enough childhood as his parents were allocated as Diplomatic aide staff in the local government. His younger sister, Maenir was born during one of the families many moves.
His father, Vaelim is now a retired governmental political aide and this is where Valak Valan gained his knowledge on Rihannsu politics and diplomacy. However, this was not originally, the route that he had wanted to go down, and much to his parents annoyance, he applied, and was accepted into the Ph’lassasam, taking the Science Division courses. His sister Maenir, continued the family tradition of staying within the local government much to her parents joy.
However, upon graduating from the Ph’lassasam, his parents and sister were present and there was a true family reunion. Valak Valan was then assigned as erie’Erein on the Aeh’lla Scout, RIS Takaram and served with some distinction. As the Galae s’Shiar were mainly militaristic, he received some prejudice from other officers on his Science skills. However, he excelled, and found himself rising through the ranks, reaching the rank of Erein and the position of Acting Chief of Sciences. He also received the IAM and ICM for his diligence and skills.
Not long after this he was promoted to Arrain and received transfer orders to the Sei’aen light cruiser, RIS Dhivael. It was here he achieved the position of Chief of Sciences and was awarded another ICM for his help during some delicate negotiations with a Ferengi fleet. It was due to his impressive ability to defuse a possibly fatal situation that saved the Dhivael’s possible destruction, and he was later approached to join the ranks of the Kiith Mrevhoqq'ghi.
Though he hadn’t envisioned joining this division, a call from his father persuaded him to accept the offer. He was transferred to their college and received additional training before his assignment as a diplomatic aide on Hdrael 1. This was just after the announcement of the Exodus; the whole procedure of talks and conference was helped along by his own selflessness. He offered to remain behind to assist in the final departure of refugees and this was accepted.
However, his fine negotiation skills were noticed and he was then offered another position, that of Chief Liason Officer and a further promotion to erie’Riov. This was a rare honour, and Valak Valan was filled with some pride, though there was a price. This was in the form of a transfer to the Lloann’galae Hdrael, Starbase Bravo. It was certainly a challenge and he had no objection in accepting the offer.
