Raven is the first born Child of Korra and Max. Due to being trapped underground on a Archaeological excavation, starting the Pon-Farr her mother Korra had no choice but to ask Max to assist her and the new couple found that they enjoyed each others company.

At the age of five while living on Vulcan, Raven showed signs of being different; wanting to follow the Human way. She challenged her teachers and their views on how she should act. They preferred to steer her towards the more Vulcan ways. However, her mother, Korra, intervened seeing her daughter being mistreated and told the school that Raven would find her own way in life. She would become who she was meant to be and not what others would expect.

As the years passed, Raven went along with her parents as they did what they loved Archaeology, going from site to site Raven begun mingling with the other family's finding that she had lot's in common with the other children, Tobi, Tammy and Akame were in the first class Raven attended on her first visit to an Archaeological site, the children got on very well as a group and became fast friends, to keep themselves occupied whist their parents were working they started going on adventures, making up storys, Rock Climbing and doing what Children do get in to trouble (but not in a harmful or bad way).

13 was Raven's age when she and Bolin found Kai, whilst visiting her grand-parents on earth, Raven and Bolin took to exploring the hills around their home when they came across a tiny puppy, half starved and wet and crying for help as they saved the tiny puppy from the ditch, Raven started to show an interest for the medical path as she cared for the pup, nursing the puppy back to health Raven had been allowed to keep the pup.

21 whist out socialising with her friends and celebrating her birthday, Raven ended up getting her Tattoo and being on the merry side of drunk so did her friends, they all got Tattoo's connected to their nicknames used in the games they use to play, Tobi (bear), Tammy (kitten) and Akame (owl) also the subject of what they wanted to do with their lives came up and not knowing what to do or where to go in life the others convinced Raven to join Starfleet until she finds her calling.

At this time Bolin (13 years old) had decided to follow the Vulcan ways and was discussed with the way Raven was acting and the two came to blows. Even to this day Raven and Bolin don't see eye to eye and have heated debates every time they meet up.
