===The Dominion===
A large portion of the Gamma Quadrant is was under the control of the [[Dominion]], but it is believed that some minor powers exist on the fringes of their space.
In the act directly precipitous to the [[Dominion War]], the [[Federation]] mined the entrance to the [[wormhole|Bajoran wormhole]] (leading to the Gamma Quadrant) in 2373. This cut off access to this quadrant from any [[Alpha Quadrant]] powers and prevented [[Dominion]] reinforcements from adding to the Dominion War.
As of 2416 most of the Dominion had been destroyed by the [[Krynar Confederation]]. Small remnants of the Dominion remain, but they are disconnected and disrupted. It is unknown as of now what has happened to the Founders.
===Species of the Gamma Quadrant===
The more unknown species of the Gamma Quadrant have begun to surface after the Dominions fall. Because most species of the Gamma Quadrant have been under the boot of the Dominion a large majority of them live in squalor. Certain species like [[Teplan]] and [[Tygarian|Tygarians]] who have been recovering for years are already beginning to help the Quadrant. Other species such as the [[Caldonian|Caldonians]], [[Karemma|Karemmaian]] and [[VolkAstrum|VolkAstrues]] have made large strides in bringing prosperity to the Quadrant
