USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-E
Quillian graduated third in his class. Due to exemplary performance at the academy, he was promoted the rank of Ensign, a rare occurrence, on Stardate 20108.04. The promising Ensign’s first assignment was the USS Enterprise , NCC-1701-E]]. The “Mighty-E” was brought out of service as a museum ship in order to track down the Rear Admiral Kwalin, changeling, who among other things, had stolen the USS Pulsar. The Pulsar was the Federation’s first battleship, a truly dangerous weapon in the Kwalin’s hands. In order to recover the Pulsar, the Federation Council allowed the Enterprise to be temporarily fitted with the experimental inter-phasic cloaking technology Kwalin was researching. Assigned to team overseeing the use of inter-phase cloak, the young Ensign Dramar found himself on the cutting edge of science. Not only did this thrill the scientist in him, he was following in his father’s footsteps, making a difference in the galaxy. Thanks to the excellent performance of the cloaking system, the Enterprise crew successfully recovered the USS Pulsar. Kwalin escaped.
USS Philadelphia, FF-6053
Lieutenant Commander Dramar was on shoreleave aboard Starbase 1 during the Romulan assault turned Borg Invasion of Sector 001 on stardate 20211.14. In the ensuing chaos of the intruders beaming aboard the starbase, the Armageddon Directive was initiated, which began evacuation beam outs of crew and officials based on rank and station. Quill was nearly assimilated before the transporter beam whisked him away to relative safety aboard the Philadelphia. However, his escape was bittersweet. As the transporter beam enveloped him, Dramar was horrified to see his mother and sister, who had come to Starbase Alpha to spend the day with him, assimilated by the Borg.
Somehow, perhaps because of his training and the presence of the impending danger that threatened the ship, he was able to maintain composure. After the Philadelphia shot her way out of stardock, she fled the battle as ordered to initiate contact with the OrganiansOrganian s and ask for their assistance. She was hit by a glancing borg Borg weapon, and hurled through an open subspace conduit. Upon egress, the Philadelphia was in terrible shape. Many systems were off-line and to make matters worse, their estimates placed them over a year away from the nearest Federation outpost at high warp.
Due to the injury of the Philadelphia’s First Officer, Commander Avon, Lieutenant Commander Dramar was assigned to the position of Executive Officer. The damage to the ship was severe enough that it forced the crew to abandon the Philadelphia. The planet they landed on, the 4th planet in the E- 19 System, was inhabited by a highly advanced race known as the Em’sha. Despite a botched first contact that begun with a member of the crew shooting an Em’sha, The Em’Sha agreed to help the stranded crew. With their assistance, the Philadelphia was repaired and transported to the Vulcan system. In the massive battle that followed, it appeared that borg were defeated once and for all. Peace was once again established. In light of his service and valiant action Quill received several more commendations from his CO. In a special ceremony following the conclusion of the war, Quill was awarded the Gold Star and promoted to the rank of Commander by Fleet Admiral Jon Beckett.
With the departure of Captain Lanael from command due to injuries sustained during the Second Battle of Sol, command of the Philadelphia was turned over to an old friend of Quill’s, Captain Lucas Leeot, who selected him as First Officer. During this time, Quill’s relationship with Commander Goddard, who had been transferred to the USS Drake as First Officer, begun to deteriorate. It ended with Commander Goddard cheating on him and leaving him for another man. The betrayal left him in an emotional wreck. This was a period of lost time for Dramar. Fortunately, his friends and the time spent as First Officer helped him through it, leaving him stronger for it. The tensions resulting from the incursion of an unknown alien race and the conflicts that ensued help refocus his perspective and served to add a Starfleet Commendation Medal to his already impressive portfolio. The alien incursion also setup the next phase of his life.
USS Sheridan, DD-4086
The Battle of Tansec
After settling in aboard the Sheridan, his first tactical assignment as CO was the joint strike force operation against the orion Orion pirate cartel operating in the Tansec Sector, which became known as the Battle of Tansec. During the battle, the Sheridan performed admirably. The tactical and command experience of small ship tactics Quill had gained as First Officer on the Philadelphia applied easily to the slightly larger Sheridan. Though she was a little less maneuverable than his beloved Philly, her teeth were much sharper. For his part in the operation, Dramar was awarded a Diamond Star. Dramar also defended the Federation against the reptilian aliens that attacked on Stardate 20412.05. with the Orion Dragon cartel all but destroyed, the last thing the young Captain expected was to face pirates yet again in his very next assignment.
