Especially his dad.  Most of his Academy career was uneventful, as he didn’t have a lot of time for many extracurriculars. He spent his summers on scientific expeditions to border planets, but the school years themselves werespent mostly in study. The only people he considered himself close towere some other science cadets, a Vulcan named Salen and a woman namedMelanie Bengston. Melanie was something of a surprise, even to Jonathan. He started offjust helping her with a class they were both in, but it quickly becamemore of a friendship than just a working relationship. She evenmanaged to drag him out to a few parties with her, though he neverstayed long. When he tried – despite his own worries – to pursue therelationship, she cut him off completely. It was a huge blow to hisself-esteem, and he dived into his books even more.

Upon graduationMost of his Academy career was uneventful, as he received didn’t have a posting lot of time for many extracurriculars. |Achievements= Is one of the few people to leave Beta Cyprus for good, did so on his merits and not as a last ditch escape

|Time= This one time, he and Shawn had gone exploring through the dome, and made their way to the top of the tallest spire. They were several miles from home, but they didn’t care. Looking out over the nearby mountains and valleys, he felt like he was the king of it all. Of course, their mothers made them regret their indiscretion in wandering so far, but through his teenage years, and especially after he lost his arm, Jonathan would go up there either with his friend or alone, just to think and remember.

|Role Model=Zefram Cochrane. He wasn’t afraid to try the unknown, and that’s just the spirit that Jonathan needs if he’s going to succeed in Star Fleet.
