The Akira-class is a Star Fleet starship class, of heavy cruiser type. This vessel class is retired.
History
The Akira-class was put into service by the early 2370s, with the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards a construction site as of 2371. They were featured prominently in many of Star Fleet's major conflicts, including the Battle of Sector 001 and the Dominion War.
