- February 4 - Charles A. Lindbergh Jr. is born.
He would later go on to fame as the first person to perform a solo transatlantic flight, the first transatlantic flight between two major city hubs, and the longest transatlantic flight by almost 2,000 miles.
He flew nonstop flight from New York City to Paris on May 20–21, 1927, in a plane called the Spirit of St. Louis.
- Felix Pedro discovers gold in modern-day Fairbanks, Alaska.
- The first science fiction film, the silent A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage dans La Lune), is premiered at the Théâtre Robert-Houdin in France.
It is an immediate success.
