The USS Titan is named for the giants of Greek Mythology, the quality of prodigious size, strength, and achievement, and for the 11th moon of Saturn. <br/>
The USS Titan, CL-2007 was launched on Stardate 20206240206.01 in response to the Romulan threat against the Federation. The ship has successfully survived battles against both the Borg and the Romulans and continued to serve honourably in the [[2nd Fleet|2nd Battle Group]] until it was transferred to the [[3rd Fleet|3rd Battle Group]] under the command of [[Captain]] [[Tregelen, Alexis|Alexis Tregelen]] Stardate 20908240908.08. The Titan performed well in the 3rd fleet earning Captain Tregelen a promotion to Commodore. With the destruction of Sierra-18 and Bajor by the Inquisitors and the decimation of the 3rd fleet the Titan was transferred back to the 2nd fleet where they took command of the [[202nd Police Flotilla]].<br/>

=== Reassignment ===
On Stardate 21201241201.16 the USS Titan along with its crew returned to the Second Fleet after the destruction of the Third Fleet by the Inquisitors. The Titan was put in command of the [[202nd Police Flotilla]] and assigned to patrol the Romulan/Federation border.
The Titan's first mission as head of the 202nd Police Flotilla was a simple border patrol along the Romulan border however it wasn't long before the Titan was called away on an important assignment to Tholian space. As the Titan was the fastest ship in the region they were ordered to escort an Ambassador to Tholian space to conduct talks with the Tholians in order to get their assistance with the recent Inquisitor attacks. During the trip there the Ambassador was killed by one of his security detail. Unfortunately the Titan crew were unable to ascertain this until after he had already escaped.
