Tellar Prime, or Tellar, is the inhabited prime planet in the Tellar system. Classified as M Class, this is the homeworld of the Tellarites, a warp capable humanoid species.
In 2155, representatives from '''Tellar Prime''' (also called simply '''Tellar took part ''') is an inhabited planet in talks on Earth to form the 61 Cygni system. It orbits a Coalition pair of Planets. In 2161binary, [[Star Classification Table#CLASS K|K-class]], Tellar became a founding member of the United Federation of Planetsstars.

This binary star system, also known by its Bayer designation as 61 Cygni, had at least one planet. Tellar A is a K class star with a magnitude of +5, which was the same brightness as Sol. Tellar B was a K class star.

While it is sunny most of the mid-22nd centurytime, at all locations, Tellar Prime was a destination on the Earthlight and dry atmosphere do not trap heat sufficiently. This means that temperatures remained cool for many years. A lack of surface water means that little water evaporates into the air, thus depriving any possibility of rainfall -Tellar runhelping the planet to stay dry and calm. In 2378Instead, Tellar Prime became sea water flows through a Federation membernetwork of subterranean caverns, collecting inland into vast underground reservoirs. This naturally ensures that the water is filtered out of any impurities, filling the underground reserves with fresh, drinkable water.
