|Friends=Issack Graham, Abby’s best friend since she was 6. Currently a Lieutenant serving aboard the USS Jansky. She is also quite close to her fellow Academy faculty, particularly [[James Esperenson]] and [[John Halpert]].
|History=Abby was born on Earth, and was raised there by her mom in Florida for many years, as her father was serving as CEO aboard the USS Waterloo. When she was six years old, her mother applied to be the lead researcher for a new medical facility on planet that was just being colonized. Discussing the matter, Abby’s parents didn’t think this colony would be a good place for the inquisitive child who had a knack for tearing things apart to see how they worked, so she went to live with her father aboard the Waterloo.

As she got older, Abby’s interests took after those of her father. She still loved taking things apart, but it progressed into more than just her toys: tricorders, phasers, replicators – all to her father’s amusement. She also began to help out with the younger grades, feeling proud that she could help out on the ship like her dad.

When she was accepted into the Academy, she chose Engineering to major in because of her interest in how things worked. Upon graduation, Abigail was assigned to the USS Jansky. Her good friend Issack noticed that though Abby was having fun aboard the Jansky, there was something missing. One day he spotted Abby teaching a new engineer the ropes, and realised that it was the teaching she missed. He suggested that she apply to the Academy and become an instructor.

After much discussing with her parents, he father told her that if teaching was what she wanted to do, then she should go with it. Following that advice, Abby applied to the Academy to be an instructor. However, during the application process, her father passed away. Abby was so torn out that she was on the brink of quitting Star Fleet, until her friend Issack told her to stick with it as her father would be upset if she didn’t. Abigail did, and in the end became an Academy Instructor.

Once she had moved to San Francisco, Abigail’s Mom retired from Star Fleet Medical and moved to San Francisco to be around her daughter.

Over the years Abigail excelled in her position as instructor, and was eventually promoted to the role of Dean of Admissions and to the rank of Lieutenant. Abby continued on in the role of an instructor while assuming her new duties. Well liked by the students she taught and famous for the Academy parties she plans, Abigail was also voted Best Academy Instructor two years in a row. Eventually she was promoted to Lieutenant Commander.

During her time at the Academy, Abigail found herself developing feelings for one of her commanding officers. Afraid of approaching him about this and possibly ruining their working relationship, Abby kept her attraction for him secret and continued on with her duties. That was, until a certain Academy Christmas Party came about. Asked to join then Admiral William Gillenwater for the Superintendent's traditional first dance, she accepted. Unfortunately her clumsy streak reared its head and the heel of her shoe dug it's way into Bill's foot, snapping off (the heel had been previously weakened when Charles the wombat had decided Abby's shoe would make a good treat to munch on). Helping a limping Gillenwater off the dance floor so she could treat his wound, Abigail soon discovered that Bill had fallen in love with her. He was soon to be transferred to a new position aboard the USS Yellowstone, and as he was no longer going to be her superior, Bill had decided to make his own feelings known.

The pair began dating thereafter, spending as much time together as possible as Bill only had two weeks until he was to ship out. It was a whirlwind of romance for the pair. The evening of Star Fleet's Admiralty Ball, Bill decided he loved Abby too much and, not wanting to risk losing her, proposed. She accepted, and two days later the pair were married in Bill's hometown of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Not wanting to part with her new husband, Abigail managed to transfer to the USS Yellowstone as an engineer. Due to a family emergency, the Yellowstone's Chief Engineer had to take a leave of absence, leaving the position open. For six months Abby served as CE as the Yellowstone completed it's mission at the Gamma-7 Science Facility.

At the end of the Third Romulan War, Abigail and Bill returned to Earth. Abby was able to resume her position as Dean of Admissions at the Academy, while Bill decided to semi-retire and become administrator emritus and groundskeeper. She was promoted to Commander. Unfortunately, her husband fell into a lava flow while doing research on a recently discovered planet leaving Abby widowed. Grief plagued her for several months, however she was quietly commended for her continued professionalism on the job.

Abby was then promoted to Superintendent of Starfleet Academy. She continues to work diligently to ensure that this generation of cadets are the most prepared for the dangers of the universe.
