Captain’s Log Stardate 20709.30

Captain Joseph E. Valiant recording:

It’s been 8 days since Star Fleet has given the Yeager crew the transfer order to this space station, and while there’s been an improvement to the stations condition, it’s still not up to par. This is of course no fault of the crew, but rather the circumstances. Until the Corps of Engineers arrived yesterday, we were left to scavenge as many resources as possible from the badly damaged Yeager until additional engineering supplies came. We were forced to make do with what we had lying around which, sadly, wasn’t much. Now that the Corps of Engineers is here with additional supplies we should have all our systems operational soon; that still won’t mean that all our repairs will be completed. Systems aren’t everything to a station; there’s still much more work to be done. Sickbay will need to be stocked, the Promenade fixed up, crew quarters refurbished, and such. So before work can begin in those areas we’ll need medical, raw resources, and other supplies. I am told that supplies are on their way, however I was told that last week…If only the rest of Star Fleet was as efficient as the Corps of Engineers…they managed to get a repair crew out here with additional engineering supplies, and picked up the Yeager to take back to a shipyard only a week after the transfer order came through…why other critical supplies aren’t here already is beyond my comprehension.

As for our ‘guests’ they’re still patiently waiting in the brig for a transport ship to arrive to take them to Earth to stand trial for their actions against the Federation. I definitely don’t have pity on them…it seems as of now they’re the ones getting the best treatment; their room is consistently powered, their food is promised three times a day while many of the crew seems to have to pass up on lunch and dinner because their jobs demand them to, all to keep basic systems running, and, to top it off, our prisoners don’t have to do any work…who’d ever thought that prisoners would be guaranteed more than the free…but I guess that’s just the circumstances.

For now all we can do is fix what we can, and make do with what little luxuries we have.

End log.
