Pavel Chekov]]) is born. <br />[[1959]] – The Soviet [[probe ]] ''Luna 2 '' crashes onto [[Luna|the Moon]], becoming the first man[[human]]-made object to reach it.<br>[[2015]] – The first [[Human]] observation of [[gravity|gravitational wave]]s is made- a century after they were predicted. :*<i>These gravity waves -ripples in the fabric of [[Space-time|spacetime]]- are believed to result from a cataclysmic event calculated as 1.3 billion light years away from [[Earth]]. [[Physics|Physicists]] describe these waves as being produced in the final fraction of a second of a collision of two [[black hole]]s merging into a single, more massive, spinning black hole. A portion of their mass is converted into the energy carried by a strong burst of gravitational waves, as given by E=mc².</i>
