|History=Piper was born on the Fourth of July in [[2410]], and adopted by Maggie Murphy eight weeks later. She stayed on Earth for a bit and started to learn commands from Maggie and her family, but soon learned the best trick of them all – how to escape Maggie’s Quarters!
The bond Piper has with Maggie Murphy is quite close, but when Maggie is away, the naughty dog does play. Piper is a very curious and adventurous dog, and when Maggie was going through the transfer to a Starship, Piper almost succeeded in escaping Quarantine a total of three times.
Once she was aboard a Starship, Piper found escaping much easier. Since many people come and go in many different places, that gives Piper easier access to different parts of the ship. She has been aboard only one Starbase, but knows it very well from the times Maggie has gone off and unwittingly allowed Piper to explore.
Piper is always eager to explore, and finds that the best way to do so is by avoiding falling objects, grabby hands, and following her nose.
While Maggie Murphy was still station on the USS Ticonderoga, Piper went on what she considers her ‘First Away Mission.’ The pup went off exploring on Star Base Bravo and found herself on the USS Dauntless during the ship’s twelfth mission. Sadly, she also considers this personal Away Mission a failure, since she was so disoriented from being on another ship, in addition to the constant klaxons and frightened nature the new crew and atmosphere gave her. Though she did make a few friends, Piper was well and ready to return back home to the Ticonderoga to her friend, Maggie Murphy.
The next “away mission” was when Piper and Maggie were on Personal Leave on Starbase Bravo. With Maggie recovering from the Bolian Flu, Piper thought it was a good idea they take a nice walk together before returning to their assigned ship, the USS Ticonderoga. However, while in a holo-park, Piper was just able to sniff out the spatial and temporal anomaly before it kidnapped the pup and Maggie. While being held hostage, Piper remembers little, but dreams much more now than she did before. She feels a stronger bond with Maggie as well, as though their minds were entwined while being held captive.
When they returned, both were given a full medical work-up, though only Maggie cleared for duty. Depressed, Piper was forced to stay behind, and decided against exploring the Starbase, as per her usual routine.
Upon returning to Maggie's side (now onboard the Dauntless), Piper began to feel a stronger connection to her companion. Both soon discovered that there seemed to be a psychic “link” between them, most likely caused by the wormhole that held them captive for a nearly a year. Piper found herself thinking about Starfleet regulations, where she guessed Maggie was finding herself dreaming of squirrels and rawhides. Maggie kept promising to get the pair of them checked out by a medical doctor, but both are apprehensive on the subject.
As she followed Maggie from assignment to assignment, Piper served as ring-bearer / flower girl for [[Murphy, Margaret|Maggie]] and [[Griffin Wright|Griffin's]] wedding.
The whole family now resides on [[Starbase Bravo]], where, to the Base's chagrin, Piper continues her antics.
