=Mission Summary=
The USS Ozaki, under the Command of Commander Sonia Nezmah, was out on scouting patrol near the Romulan boarder as part of the flotilla belonging to the USS Titan, when they received a distress call.
Strange things then began to happen throughout the ship. Helm seemed to lose control sporadically and intruders were detected which Security soon after noted were dead officers seemingly coming back to life. There were also reports of random man-eating white Rabbits.
The Ozaki crew soon found themselves in what would be later called the belly of the beast. It was a ship graveyard with hundreds of half decomposed and rusted ships. They came across one ship still functioning, captained by a Mirak. The Captain explained that the Nebula was actually a living being and lured ships into it's belly using mind manipulation. Hence why the crew thought they were seeing white rabbits and zombies. The Captain supplied the Ozaki crew with specific filter protocols to remove a cotangent that the Nebula-Alien used to increase his mental manipulation over everyone.
Once the Engineers and Scientists installed the filters things began to normalise across the ship. The hull breach was patched. An idea was formed that they use the remaining ships in the graveyard as explosive fodder to give the Nebula Alien a form of belly ache.

The last few days have presented an interesting situation that resulted in our almost being digested by some life form resembling a Nebula. We unfortunately did not have a lot of time to study it, as the majority of our time was spent attempting to escape. It seems as though the nebula somehow tricked us into entering it. I am still unsure as to how it managed to do so. Was the initial unknown ship some form of life form living within the nebula, working in some complex symbiotic relationship, like parasite and host? Or was it some sort of projection designed to fool our senses and sensors.
I am leaning towards either the first, or some yet on thought of explanation. Primarily because, while I did note that I felt.. off, I did not seem to be as susceptible to the hallucinations as most of the other crewmembers, I assume due to my half Vulcan physiology. So it stands to reason, that if the particle caused visions within the cloud were weaker on me, than I should have noticed something with the initial contact of the alien vessel.

Security Log
Star date 21309.17
Lieutenant Lideah Recording
It will still be a hour before we get to our rescue mission, and right now I am not sure what my security team can do. All I can say for sure is, we are counted on for the safety of the ship. It will be under fire that my crew will be tested, and if we come out of this with little to no casualties. I will consider this to be a successful test.According to records, as stands we have sixty two people on this ship, and twenty three of them are in security. This means that we have the largest portion of the crew, and this is equally as good as it is bad. The double edged sword would be, that we are held to a higher standard on this ship. Also both their success and failures, would be a reflection on me.
When time permits I will submit a recommendation to the first officer LCdr. S'Kles. In this report it would state that I would suggest that everyone go for some sort of self defense training, and spend at least one hour a week doing so. As a Vulcan, I believe he would see the logic in it. I would like to see the crew be able to defend themselves, just in case security can not get to them right away. For the ship, and my department, I can not and will not expect anyone to be at my level. How ever, I would like for them to know at least the basics. In that same report, I am going to recommend that as security, we do a mandatory minimum of two hours a week.
I am also going to schedule tactical training in the holo deck for security. This training will include things like, extractions, hostage situations, and all out fire fights. I will also ask our doctors to take part in this, they will deal with simulated casualties; while security covers them. I believe this would be in both of our best intrest to do, because you never know what can happen in an away mission. When this is all done, we will be the ones who set the standard for all security to follow. If we are going to be responsible for the safety of the ship and her crew, I want my people to be ready for anything. Also one last thing about it is with a little help from our doctors, I would like to schedule some sort of first aide for my people, just enough to cover the basics.

Shortly after my arrival on the Ozaki bridge, we were given orders to respond to a distressed vessel call. Our Security Officer suggested the distress call was a ruse to get the Ozaki out of the way. Turns out she was right, but our orders were firm to proceed to the rescue.

Upon arrival at our destination, there was nothing... no storm... no ship in distress... nothing.

So, Ah've been on the Ozaki for the most part of a week. Soon as Ah was stationed 'ere, Ah began to have everythin in order. It would seem that Ahm one out of six medical personnel 'ere on board. With the security taking most of the ship, it's a wonder we ever have a science team as well.
After that...the blasted ship shook, shakin us a bit. Ah hope to hear somethin from the Bridge soon...No one's told us anything!
End log.
