The As the borders of the Federation have continued to expand away from Paris and Starfleet Command, the need for a mobile command platform ready to serve as a nerve center to Federation efforts far from home has only grown, and the Odysseywas created to answer that need. While the contemporary Century-class is one meant to conduct independent exploratory missions far from Federation space, the Odyssey-class serves as Starfleet’s premier diplomatic platform, as well as its most sophisticated command-and-control vessel. By sheer mass, Odyssey-class starships are amongst the largest vessels in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, and certainly amongst the largest ever created built by Star FleetStarfleet. Its massive size makes it very resilientBuilt to new standards in crew comfort and with such advances as holographic control interfaces, reconfigurable command spaces, formidable defenses, but its manoeuvrability is limited by and the bulk of the vessellargest shipboard communications arrays ever built. The Odysseyserves as a roving embassy and command-class's unique split saucer pylon reduces subspace wake at higher warp speedsand-control center, but delayed as effective holding a peace summit as she is coordinating exploratory missions from the prototype entering production frontier. ===Class History=== Initial designs for several years. Directly aft of the main lounge is a four-deck “mall,” which is connected to a Starbase or number of restaurants, replicator facilities, and other Star Fleet similar facilities. The Odyssey-class has ample room for cargo staffed by holographic attendants and/or passengerscivilians, and can easily be tapped for rescue missions or civilian evacuations if depending on the need arisesparticular ship.

Medical facilities are extensive, rivaling starbase hospitals. The Odysseymedical deck on Deck 10 is split between two large sickbay units, with two surgical bays, four medical labs, office space for four physicians, four isolation rooms, and a fourteen-class also features the use bed ward, as well as numerous individual patient rooms, dedicated medical storage bays, and industrial replication facilities.
