Once the Dauntless took off for its next mission however, Maggie would quickly grow to regret it. She was quite happy assuming an almost co-leadership position with her CTO and boyfriend, Griffin Wright, and was content with being assigned the covert portion of the away mission. Tasked to find a needle in a haystack, Murphy, Eyles and First Officer Caldecott set off to find a Romulan who was told to have information for the Federation. Before they could find them, the Starfleet group was jumped by a gang who attempted to do what they wanted with them. In the process of the fight, Maggie was stabbed in the stomach, and was only roughly healed when the Starfleet group met up with the Romulan spy. Though, once they found their operative, the group was able to beam up to their mothership, and be healed properly in their own Sickbay.

On the Dauntless' mission to escort an Ambassador and Federation Diplomat to Celes II, Murphy was the chief pilot. Shortly into the mission, the Dauntless was attacked by a seemingly-Klingon vessel, though the maneuvering and firing capabilities seemed much more advanced than the ship would have allowed. This forced the pilot to drive dangerously in order to try and save her crew, and managed to do so with only a few hitches- the new Captain of the ship and the Federation Ambassador were kidnapped. Stuck between a wall and a Klingon border, the Dauntless was forced to turn around and head towards their original destination, while Maggie spent most of her time trying to trace and track down where Captain Torgh may have been taken.
