He was promoted to Captain during the Fleet reorganization, and served as a Company Commander during the Second Romulan War and the Borg Invasion. On Stardate 20409.13, Jack was promoted to Major, and assigned as Battalion Executive Officer. Jack Served as Battalion Executive Officer until his Commanding Officer, Lt Col Henry Jacobsen, retired on Stardate 20801.01. Due to manpower shortages, Jack was assigned as Battalion Commander, though he lacked the necessary time in service as a commissioned officer to be promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Due to the eleven years he spent as an enlisted man, Jack is older than usual for a Major, just as he has always been somewhat older than other officers of his rank.
