|History= Jarl is the son of Janle and Husjarl Hrothgardii. Born on the Efrosian home world Jarl spent his early years helping tend the family farm. Not satisfied with the sedentary life Jarl left for the Capital city as soon as he reached the age of maturity. As a rite of passage he made the pilgrimage on foot carrying only simple survival supplies.
Along the way a chance encounter with a nubel wulf left him near death. He managed to make his way to a near-by town where his injuries were tended to. He opted to leave his new scars to mark his near death at the claws of the wulf. When he recovered he hunted down the wulf and exacted his revenge. It wasn’t until after he had killed the beast that he realized it had been defending its young. Over come with remorse he vowed he would see the young cubs safe. He contacted a local farmer who agreed to help care for the cubs until they were able to be re-located. Jarl still carries the cloak he fashioned from the beast’s hide as a reminder that not everything is as it seems on the surface.
When he reached the capital city he spent several days exploring the various distractions the big city had to offer. He soon lost himself in these myriad of sins. It was during this dark period in his life that he met Skarl Skarvenii, a newly appointed Law enforcement officer in the district Jarl called home at the time. It was Skarl who recognized the potential Jarl showed for law enforcement that eventually led to Jarl joining the same force he had rebelled against for years. Taking him under his wing, Skarl taught Jarl everything he knew about security and law enforcement. Jarl quickly showed an aptitude for Special Response situations and expert handling of weapons.
When Skarl was offered a position on Ascardii Station he brought Jarl along with him. It was here that Jarl got his first taste of life in the space. The adventure and lure of exploring the vastness of space called to him with greater frequency as he encountered more alien species. Finally after a long conversation with the Chief of Security of a passing Starfleet vessel did Jarl decide to join Starfleet. His application was accepted the following year and he soon found himself bound for Earth.
