Following the New Kanto mission, Jaxx received the news of his Father’s death. Though young Crandell had convinced himself he hated his Father, the death caused more grief than he imagined and discovered some things that shattered the illusion of his Dad. One was that he had not been cut off completely and the financial funding had not simply gone, his Father had opened an account in his son’s name and put the money there instead. Following his Father’s passing Jaxx acquired an old log cabin, that had once belonged to his Grandfather. It had stood unused for many years and had fallen into a state of disrepair, which Crandell decided to take up as a project to put his energy into. Around the same time a chance encounter with Luna Pond changed his perception of things, she accompanied him on his first journey to the cabin.

2nd Mission on the Gettysburg.

Just prior to his second mission on the Gettysburg, Jaxx met the most beautiful woman ever, her name was Aurora and again his life was changed for the better. Although he’d had relations with Dr Leah Wickley during the same leave, Aurora had left something of a lasting impact on him. But what really hammered home the reality, or at least pushed it him in the right direction, was a right hook and a knee to a certain part of his anatomy. That was from Aurora, when she caught Jaxx flirting with Leah in sickbay.

At around the same time Jaxx was transferred to Support, in a way to help him shape up and be more effective as a Star Fleet officer. He served very ably in logistics for over a month, the move gave him something of a free roam of the ship, which meant he could sneak in visits to see Aurora.

During that time Aurora asked Jaxx to make a promise and to attempt to fit in, while at the same time try and get along with Commander Braggins, especially following her promotion to First Officer. Crandell made the promise and did stick to it.

Jaxx ended up on the bridge of the Getty during the mission, he was initially asked to clean up the helm, following it being vomited on. After which he was given his chance to man the position, which he did and loved every moment of it. That was until an order was given, that would see a shuttle full of sick people blown to atoms, it did not sit well with him in the least, he had the strong belief that it was the wrong call to make. He raised the objection and asked for it to be noted, though he was not certain as to whether it was or not.

Feeling extreme frustration with the situation, Crandell was certain that he could no longer serve on the Gettysburg. He believed that he would never be taken seriously and that anything he did would be purposely met with disapproval. So with that he applied for a transfer as soon as the Gettysburg docked, which coincided with the ship being put into mothball.

USS Sheridan

Jaxx didn’t anticipate the transfer being so quick, he received orders to report to the USS Sheridan, a Sun-Tzu class destroyer, as one of its tactical officers. His then fiance, Aurora, moved with him and at the same time changed career paths to medicine.

Soon after arriving on the ship, Crandell found himself promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and put in charge of the Tactical department. His life began anew...
