Harrison was born in a small town called Versailles, Indiana to loving parents. He never had the best of everything, but was not deprived of things he wanted. He had an older brother called Oliver, and he learned that his brother never really liked him, as it meant he had to share his parents affection and attention.
His service time on the USS Kepler was largely uneventful, mapping star clusters and nebulae. There was one incident near the end of a mission which well stay in Harrison's mind for the rest of his life. They were mapping a system when they were attacked by an unknown vessel. The port side shields were disabled, and a massive hole blasted in the ship's hull near the Engineering section. Managing to scramble to the main exit and knowing that his first duty was to the ship, he closed the door and sealed it and had to watch as his colleagues were either blown into space or died from oxygen deprivation. When they managed to get back to Star Base he put in for a promotion to Chief Engineer on the USS Poseidon, but wasn't given the assignment. So he remained on the Kepler working the best he could. Throughout this entire time, Jemima and the Children had been with him and supported him through everything.

Harrison was accepted for a promotion to Chief Engineer on board the only active Galactic Explorer Class Starship, which meant that the family had to move again and start all over. This was something which he and Jemima were used to. However, the children hadn't done it before and while there were times when the children had temper tantrums about leaving, in the end they were excited about new things.
There were some really good times while serving on the Copernicus - he made some good friends and after a short period of serving on the ship the family learned that they would be getting bigger as Jemima had become pregnant again. So 9 months later, she gave birth to a beautiful little girl which they named Robin.
Things had been going well with the new family, as they had loads of friends on the ship. However, things never turned out the way they thought things would go: 8 months later, Harrison recieved word that he had been promoted and transferred to the USS Sheridan.

Moving the family to their new home was easier than expected, especially after they had managed to get bigger quarters on the ship. The only down side was that the ship had lost one of the VIP quarters.
The first mission appeared to be a standard mission based on the founding principles of the Federation: exploration and scientific discovery. This first mission was to map an uncharted system, and to Harrison's delight, they discovered an O Class planet which was well-populated. Thankfully the crew and away team survived the mission even after a mistake from the Sheridan which the planet's 'Protector Entity' decided was an attack, even though it wasn't.
