| History=<br>===Pre-Star Fleet Life===
Scott was the second born of identical twins, his Brother Michael is 7 minutes older than him which resulted in Mike referring to Scott as Little Brother. His parents were both Star Fleet Officers, Abigail was an Instructor at the Academy and Jonathan was a Security Officer and later a member of SFI. The boys and their elder Sister Jennifer were brought up on Earth by their Mother mainly, Jonathan's life in Security kept him busy and away from his family, more so when he became an Agent with Star Fleet Intelligence. During his leave, Jonathan took the family on trips which were eagerly awaited at each turn, but he also took the time to take Jennifer on Father/Daughter bonding trips as well as trips with the boys. It was one of the trips that sparked Scott's passion for fishing, Jonathan was a keen angler and showed the boys some truly picturesque locales. Michael was less interested and preferred to spend time trying to write short stories.

Both boys, like their sister, did well in their educational years. Scott found a fascination with biology, while Michael went down the road of history. Jennifer's passion at school was the sciences which saw her go into a career in that field. She joined Star Fleet as soon as she was able, the boys barely saw their sister during her Academic years and less following her graduation.
 ===Star Fleet Life===
There was no question of whether Mike and Scott would join Star Fleet, Mike joined on a Security track while Scott joined Star Fleet Medical. They both excelled in their studies and for the first time in their lives, the boys saw less of each other. Mike developed something of a rebellious streak, he would spend time with friends and party as much as he could.

Scott's extracurricular studies found him studying his books and fellow Medical Student Melissa Portman. But he too developed friendships of his own, among his friends, was Daniel Brooks. Despite their paths differing somewhat Scott still maintained friendships with those from the Academy he had made, though their meetings would be sporadic at best.

During his courtship with Melissa, Scott found cooking to be something he enjoyed and took great pleasure in preparing meals for his Girlfriend and later Fiance. He also cooked meals at social gatherings on campus although whether he was meant to was brought into question a few times, the food was excellent however.

During their second year at the Academy, their Father disappeared while on assignment, efforts were apparently made to locate and retrieve him but nothing ever came to light and Anderson's senior's location remained a mystery. The event brought the family together for the first time in what seemed to be a long time and from then on they vowed to always make time for each other. During a memorial for Jonathan, a union formed between Jennifer and Lieutenant David Larson a friend of their Fathers. Jennifer and David married six months later and became parents a year after that to twin Daughters Joanne and Abby. The loss of Jonathan ironically seemed to make the family bigger.

Following graduation, Scott married Melissa and the two of them found themselves posted on the newly-christened USS Nightingale as Junior Medical Officers. They both agreed to put their careers first as they were both still young and put off starting a family until later.

As with life in the service differing postings saw separation and Scott was ordered to report to Star Fleet Medical on Earth while Melissa stayed with the Nightingale. It allowed Scott the opportunity to move back into the family home in Atlanta, where he lived with his Mother who'd retired by that point to focus on being a Grandparent. That also gave Scott the chance to bond with his Nieces when they visited and being an Uncle was one of the happiest things to happen to him. The girls loved their Uncle Scott too and cherished story time with him, which usually was done in the living room in front of a roaring fire, a holographic fire but the feeling was the same.

Melissa and Scott would communicate often and spent as much time as they could together, their love never faltered in any way. Melissa eventually became the Chief Medical Officer on the Nightingale, whereas Scott found himself content on Earth and moved into a teaching position at the Academy. Rank and status never held much appeal to Scott, who was a Doctor first and foremost. He also found that teaching was something of a high calling, the idea of parting his knowledge with the young had a lot of appeal to Scott.

During his downtime, Scott enjoyed fishing, especially at some of the spots his Dad had shown the twins. During one period of leave, Scott visited a friend's house in England for a few days, their kids had a dog that had a litter of pups. He'd never thought about owning a pet before, but one of the pups took a liking to Anderson and surprisingly Scott was drawn to the small black four-legged animal and decided to adopt him with the name Walter.

Walter would give Scott some more focus while being alone, alone as in not being with Melissa and as such they went everywhere together. The two became inseparable.

While chairing a seminar at the Academy, Scott was called away suddenly and met with terrible news, Melissa had fallen ill during a mission to a distant part of the Federation, she had contracted an unidentified and aggressive virus Despite the efforts of the best Doctors and Scientists in the fleet and the Federation, a cure could not be found, they had only succeeded in slowing the progress of the virus.

Melissa was placed on indefinite sick leave and returned to Earth where she was cared for by Scott, as well as a wide selection of Medical and Scientific personnel. The virus was fast-acting, attacking Melissa's internal organs and causing them to shut down. Many treatments were used which only slowed the condition and in effect only prolonged Melissa's life, Scott made certain she would feel as little pain as possible.

In a similar fashion to his Wife, Scott was placed on reduced hours and afforded every opportunity to be with Melissa. He didn't practice medicine during that period aside from working on the virus, he taught at the Academy occasionally and gave every waking moment in the quest of saving his beloved Melissa.

As the illness progressed there were good days and bad, some very bad, but Scott did everything he could to keep his Wife comfortable and rarely left her side. They tried to enjoy what time they had, when possible they revisited places on Earth they'd seen together previously, but most of the time Melissa didn't get beyond the family grounds and was, for the most part, confined to a mobility support chair.

Scott was surprised at how Walter was with Melissa, they'd met when his Wife was on leave before, but after she had fallen ill the dog had seemingly been more tentative to her and rarely left her side. Even in light of what he was certain to be inevitable the bonding between Melissa and Walter was heartwarming.

It was during one of their outings that Melissa made Scott promise, "When I'm gone, I don't want you to mope around, I want you to go out there and be happy." As painful as the words were to hear Scott agreed, though he had no idea if he could ever find happiness again.

Five months later Melissa passed away peacefully in her sleep, without any pain and with Scott at her side. Her parents still regarded Scott as their Son following the death of their only child, they had helped when they could during the declining months of Melissa's health and they were exceptionally thankful for how Scott had cared for their Daughter.

Scott went through bad times following Melissa's passing and fell into a depressive state feeling as though he was a failure and had failed his one true love. Through love and commitment from his family, particularly his Mother Scott got himself back on track. He returned to work and decided he wanted a fresh start and requested a starship or starbase assignment, anywhere other than on Earth.
