- February 4 – Charles A. Lindbergh Jr. is born.
He would later go on to fame as the first person to perform a solo transatlantic flight, the first transatlantic flight between two major city hubs, and the longest transatlantic flight by almost 2,000 miles.
He flew nonstop flight from New York City to Paris on May 20–21, 1927, in a plane called the Spirit of St. Louis.
- September 1 – The first science fiction film, the silent Voyage dans La Lune (A Trip to the Moon), is premiered at the Théâtre Robert-Houdin in France.
It is an immediate success.
