Personal History

John grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, Canada. His family kept to themselves most of the time. His father did not like any of the modern technology used in farming. He preferred to do it the old way. John and Mike were extremely close, being both trouble makers when young creating havoc when ever they could. John and Mike barely ever fought with each other throughout out their lives. John is also very close with his father much more then his mother, mainly because his mother stayed and took care of the house and John, Mike and his father Alex worked and spent most the day taking care of the farm. At 12, on leave, a Star Fleet Captain came home to visit his parents. John had never met anyone from Star Fleet before but had a lot of questions to ask. After 7 hours of talking to him and his brother, the Captain had his brother convinced, so Mike decided that he was going to leave and join Star Fleet. John stayed and helped on the farm. Not being very interested in Star Fleet at the time, John never made contact with the Captain for many years. At 17, John finally got in contact with his brother who he had not heard from for many years. His brother had many stories to tell John and his family about the Borg. Stories like how he and his shipmates and two other ships had a battle with a Borg interceptor and won. At 18, John's friend was off to the Academy and wanted him to come and join Star Fleet with him. John not knowing what to do with his life and enjoyed a game of chance used an old earth coin. John said, "If this lands on heads I will go, if it lands on tails I will be staying here." The coin landed on heads. John on first arriving at the Academy made contact with the Star Fleet Captain who had come home on leave and informed him that he had finally joined Star Fleet
