Captain's Log (Supplemental), Stardate 20109.12 "A good day to die"

Captain Kelly Longbow, Commanding Officer of the USS Yoritomo reporting.

The Yoritomo managed to be towed to Star Base 1 by the USS Ticonderoga. No sooner had we arrived though, and the base was under attack. The new Battleship, USS Pulsar, was stolen and destroyed the Ticonderoga making her escape. The USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-E was re-commissioned and ordered to pursue, as she was the only ship space worthy enough to try and do anything about the situation. Captain K'ang was selected as her CO, and I acted as FO for the mission.

The crews of the USS Yoritomo and USS Valley Forge combined to create a single crew for this single mission. We also took on several hundred Marines to try and board the Pulsar and retake her. It was an impossible and suicidal mission by all estimates, but we managed to pull it off.

I retrieved a few essential pieces of equipment from the Yoritomo that allowed us to maintain the element of surprise in this mission. I had liberated an experimental enemy cloaking device, which was integrated into the ship's systems to allow us to approach unseen. We had modified weapons to try and make our first shots the most damaging and count as much as possible in retaking the ship. We also had the advantage of a command bunker that had been liberated from the same enemy ship, and it allowed us to monitor enemy communications during the battle.

Many people died on this mission. Some due to changeling spies that used a virus on the crew, while others died in outright combat. I managed to kill Dorin in the battle, but Kwalin escaped. We believe another Changeling that was involved also escaped, but may never know for sure.

There has been a great deal of death for both crews to deal with now, and I hope that they will have a break from it. I fear that this may only be the beginning though, and they will all deal with a great deal more death and suffering before it is over. I feel there is something in the air, and it smells like war.

We shall see what time brings to the crew of the Yoritomo. I fear that things have forever changed, and my role as her captain may never be the same again...
