A Xindi-Insectoid

Xindi-Insectoids, like all Xindi species, have distinctive ridges on their cheeks.
Insect-like in appearance, they are genderless and reproduce asexually.

Insectoids interpret raised voices as a sign of hostility, and are known to make decisions rather quickly, often in alliance with the Xindi-Reptilians.
Both species trade technology between each other, and usually agree on most, if not all, decisions.

The Insectoid language, unique from all other Xindi language, consists of a clicking dialogue, characterized by being the most complex known to all Xindi. There are 67 known dialects of the Insectoid language. As they grow older, Insectoid names grow longer and more difficult to pronounce.

With a life expectancy of only 12 years, Insectoids are largely very intent on protecting their young, and their starships are known for including a hatchery.
The eggs cannot survive outside of the hatchery, and Insectoids have been known to sacrifice the starship in order to protect the clutch.

  • Each individual is able to produce large clusters of eggs.
  • Equipped with a gland capable of producing a powerful and subtle neurotoxin, unexpected visitors would be sprayed with a powerful neurotoxin by the eggs.
The toxin affects the intruder's perception, granting them an obsession to protect and nurture the eggs they had come in such close contact with.
