|Status of Parents:||Both alive and living on Gemworld|
|Siblings:||Nemara, identical twin sister age 25|
The second born of a set of identical twins, though only by one second, Xenara and her sister were genetically manipulated in an attempt to ensure at least one of them was highly intelligent. Xenara got the short end of that stick by an incompetent scientist. She's still a smart girl, but doesn't learn things quickly like her sister does. On the plus side, she doesn't have the quirks and annoying idiosyncrasies Nemara has.
Xarana’s parents were middle classed, but her mother worked her way up to be a powerful politician and used that power to provide for the family and to allow her father to concentrate more on his work than his children, though he remained adamant that they always came first. Her sister, Nemara followed in her father’s footsteps at a young age, and became a respected scientist in her own right. While not the smartest of the family, Xenara made up for it with determination and passion, and learned to think outside the box in almost every situation.
She was never comfortable learning science or medicine, much to her father’s disappointment, but later found that she had an affinity for strategy and diplomacy much like her mother, though Xenara was never one for politics or politicians as most of them made her skin crawl.
Xenara, although she did attend public school on Gemworld, was given a tutor on Earth, through which she was able to discover her affinities and talents. Her parents had hoped that traveling between the two worlds at such a young age would help her acclimate to heavier gravity, and it technically did to an extent, but she still needed the aid of anti-grav chairs or other devices to help cope with it.
One of the talents she learned turned out to be investigation, and she quickly discovered that her tutor was in fact a spy sent to study the family and find weaknesses for her mother’s political rivals to exploit.
She also learned at a young age, again through her tutor, that she liked to be outdoors, to hunt and fish and survive. She was a natural, and it always upset her mother and sister that she was out in wild territory with little protection. She also enjoyed games that made her think like strategema, three dimensional chess, and Kadis-Kot. She also loved playing holo role-playing games.
Her mother eventually instilled core Elaysian values upon her, and Xenara found she did in deed have a knack for politics, but it left her feeling dead inside as she learned to flirt and compromise and lie.
When she came of age, she insisted that she wanted to join Starfleet, which meant going off-world, and her father created a light-weight exo-skeleton for her to wear, created with nano technology which can self-adjust to whatever gravity level she needs to a certain extent. She was an explorer, and her father, being an astrophysicist, understood that need more than anyone.
During her Academy years, she made lots of friends, but most of them graduated without her as she took several years to graduate instead of 4. Even though it was by choice and not circumstance. Of course all of her socializing contributed to one of those extra years. It was otherwise a mostly uneventful adventure.
She became a decent pilot as well, but focused more on tactics and strategy. She never really liked flying fighters, but loved to train on actual starship simulations.
Her phobias: Xenara was on a routine training mission when her nano suit failed her and left her stranded in an escape pod that was almost completely buried underground. Several spiders of various species had found their way in and began to crawl all over her. Several of her servos in her exo-frame had been damaged and the gravity in the area immediately took hold of her. She was unable to move for several hours until a rescue team hear her screaming and rescued her. Since then she’s been terrified of being stuck in confined spaces and spiders. A Terran cat, had also found its way into the craft and had either eaten or scared them off, and the two became inseparable after the incident.
Not knowing what to name the cat, Xenara asked for ideas around campus, and eventually its playful, but chaotic nature earned him the name "Murphy" for Murphy's Law, which the cat became renowned for.
Academy Major(s): Engineering: Deflectors, Weapons and Security Systems, Operations and Command Functions. Armory: Phasers, Phaser Canons, Torpedoes. Piloting: Major/Minor Ships. Survival: Captivity, Survival Strategies. Tactics: Combat (Federation and non- Federation ships/entities), Strategy of battle 1 & 2, Marksmanship, Tactical Analysis
Academy Minor(s): Peoples and Cultures of the Federation, Prime Directive Theories and Applications, Xeno-etiquette, Astrogation, Federation Law
Hobbies and Pastimes: Strategy games, holo-novels, practicing via holodeck with ship weaponry, target practice
Short-Term Goals: Department Head, but she isn't in any rush looking forward to testing her training in actual combat or other situations where her skills could be of use.
Long-Term Goals: Captain of her own ship/Starbase, exploration of not only space, but herself. She wants to learn what she is capable of and what her limits are.
Personality: Despite her physical limitations, a, bold, daring, and fun loving flirt on the outside, mixed with solemnity. While on the clock, she tends to hold back as protocol demands, but if the need arises, or if she thinks she can get away with it, she can certainly tap into that side. She will push boundaries both professional and physical a little at a time until those boundaries are set. She makes friends rather easily, but also has a knack for swaying those who don’t like her to at least see her point of view or to get her way. She also has an uncanny ability to fit in just about anywhere, where it be a seedy bar or a high society party. She will help anyone in need if she can, But, although she is not a violent person, will become voraciously, but subtly vengeful on those that hurt her family or friends if given enough time to plan properly. She believes in science above religion, though she isn’t much of a scientist and doesn’t believe in religion at all. She will study something she doesn’t understand until she gets it, a trait she shares with her sister. Also, for some inexplicable reason, her cat, though she loves him dearly, always seems to cause her or those around her bad luck when he's around... She uses role-playing to help herself or her colleagues understand difficult issues and to get her point(s) across.
Sense of Humor: Usually upbeat and groan-inducing, but tends to also use humor to get through difficult situations and to help curb fear., whether it be hers or someone else’s. Tends to come out at odd moments, especially when stressed or anxious which doesn't happen often. When she does get stressed, people know.
Phobias: Getting stuck in confined spaces, spiders/arachnids.
Likes: Animals, flying in low gravity, strategy games, being creative, role playing, escape rooms.
Dislikes: Not being in control of her situations, asking for help
Pet Peeves or Gripes: Ignorant, Intolerant, and Entitled people.
Bad Habits or Vices: Not listening to her own advice sometimes, pushing people away when stressed, vanity, laughing in serious or somber situations
Achievements: Graduating Starfleet Academy
Disappointments: Her parents, though she loves them, they weren’t much of a real family growing up, especially after her mother became Governess. They were more focused on their careers than their own children.
Strengths: Sense of humor, Honest, Loyal, Team Player, Dependable, Reliable
Weaknesses: Not really serious at times, not really goal-oriented, overworks herself to the point of exhaustion. Tends to second guess things when stressed or anxious.
Fears: Claustrophobia, Arachnophobia
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Usually loose fitting pants and long sleeved blouses or jump suits or a form of them to hide her servo controlled exo-frame which she needs to function normally in "normal" gravity.
Distinguishing Features: Nothing but her skin. She should have been born with Elaysian features, but due to genetic tampering, they were accidentally removed. She appears human.
Pets: Terran calico cat named Murphy, whom she “rescued” while on a training mission.
Friends: Her sister and her cat
Personal Paradigm Shifts
Most Painful Experience: Finding out that her mentor and tutor was actually a spy from her mother's rival party. They had grown close and she has still never forgiven him for betraying her.
Best Time: Leaving Gemworld. It was never really home for her, as she never felt she truly belonged there. She learned of a treatment that could help her adverseness to higher gravity, but the side effects weren’t worth the trade-off.
Most Crucial Experience: Graduating Starfleet Academy. It solidified her belief that leaving home was the right move for her.
