Personal History
Col William Winters was born in Arlington, Texas and he was able to attend Star Fleet Academy as a Marine Cadet after his 3rd try at the Entrance Exam. After that initial setback, he struggled every day at the Academy in order to maintain the grade. It all changed for him when he was notified that he was going to be held back his Junior Year. That hit him personally and he decided that he would no longer compromise on anything. After that setback, he was able to accomplish perfect scores on the exams and got top marksman his last years in the Academy. With the rapid improvement, he was able to graduate with the class he was rolled back to and he became a Heavy Assault Platoon commander being straight at the front line for every single conflict that has arisen. Fate however had a very different destiny in mind for William.
The tall and athletic human risen the ranks of the Corps and he was able to be the Company Commander at Ackmar near Starbase 157. Within hours he saw his entire company get eliminated as his Division was the last line of defense so the civilians could get out. When he was able to evacuate what was left of his men, he saw the Romulans fire back at the dropships and even more Marines were vaporized before his very eyes. From that point forward, he made sure that the Romulans paid for what they did, and he went from battle after battle, going for every campaign until finally the Commanding General of his Division made him a Battalion XO. During the end of the Romulan War, he was part of the Marine Detachment that protected the Federation Diplomats to sign the peace treaty that ended the war. It was then that his worst fear was that he was being recommended to transfer to Star Base Bravo and be the Marine Commander of the Star Base. He isn't sure if he'll be able to separate his personal feelings from those closest to him, but he knows that as part of his duty, he must be willing to take the responsibility.
