Personal History

Born of the outskirts of Lunar Colony the only daughter of Ken and Jennifer rarely saw any of the open universe. Whitney grew up seldom seeing her father, due to his serving the Marine under the rank full bird Colonel. However, on Whitney's 13th birthday he began coming home more often to oversee his daughter's training. Following five years of rigorous and rewarding training Willeford applied for the Marine's Officer Program and was quickly accepted. Boarding the next available transport the Marine Academy quickly came into view, starting her next challenge.

Following graduation Willeford swore in with the rank of Second Lieutenant. During her time about her assignment, USS Reliant, Whitney worked up the rank ladder while serving as the platoon's S-1 (Administration) along with her other duties. Upon earning Major, along with the platoon's XO leaving, Whitney became assigned as the Marines second-in-command. All was going well until an away mission required a squad of marines. Taking command herself all went by the book until weapons fire was exchanged and the XO took a hard hit to her leg. With a limp unable to be fixed Whitney was relieved of her position upon return to the ship. After discussion between the Reliant's CO and the Marine Commander Willeford received a force transfer, with equivalent rank, as a Personnel Officer in the Support Department.

Unhappy with the transfer the now Lieutenant Commander contemplated resigning from the Fleet. Following an hour long conversation with her father, now a Brigadier General, all doubts of resigning were erased and Willeford accomplished her job to the best of her abilities, even with her hatred of the position. With a new Immense Class Star Base finished Whitney received a new transfer, Star Base Delta.

During the months that followed Whitney continued to serve in the capacity of Personnel Officer onboard Delta. She even continued to receive her medical treatments to keep herself fully functional. As she neared an almost insanity around her the timely arrival of Lieutenant Colonel Keyes happened to change things for the better. A experimental procedure had been developed that would heal the injury being caused by the lingering radiation. After all the concerns were brought up Whitney decided it was best to go through with it. Rolling the dice the operation was a success and Whitney received a reinstatement of the Marine Corps.

Being returned to her old rank of Major she half expected to be sent back to Earth and be forced to take a desk job. However, there were different plans when it came to the Major. She was shocked to find out she had been assigned as the base’s new Marine Commander.
