Personal History

Early Life

Scott was born to loving parents Gail and Matthew; he was the first of three children, followed five years later by twin sisters Jasmine and Maria, though they were not identical. Gail was a Doctor with Star Fleet, until she became pregnant with Scott and left to give birth and care for her son. She took a job afterwards at a local hospital. Matthew, or Matt, as most knew him, was a Star Fleet Security Officer; he remained in the Fleet initially, but left five years later when Scott's twin sisters were born.

Things were good in the family for the most part, until Scott entered his teens and adopted a rebellious nature. Falling in with the wrong crowd and disagreeing with his father often. Scott would spend most of his days acting like a fool and generally making a nuisance of himself with his friends, who were part of a local motorcycle club. Not like the old Earth Hell's Angels, basically a bunch of boys looking for fun and not worrying about life in general. This affiliation sparked a passion for motorcycles.

One of the gang leaders was Blake Austin, who had been Scott's best friend during their schooling years. They'd met in the 9th grade, when Scott happened across a group of boys beating on Blake. Blake was short in stature and very skinny in those days; he wasn't much of a fighter, either. Someone needed to stand up for him and Walker chose to be that person. Following the conclusion of the fight, after which the three assailants withdrew, they shouted all kinds of filth about Austin and his sexuality. Scott also received something of a branding about the same thing on that day. Though Scott was able to shrug it off, Blake took it seemingly way too seriously and from then on decided to do something about his appearance. The two boys joined a gym together and would work out for many a free hour. It was during their 11th grade, that Blake revealed that the boys who'd set upon them two years previously were right in what they were saying. Of course it came as a shock to Scott, but he wasn't one to judge on such things and their friendship remained intact.

At 16, things on the home front deteriorated, Scott left the family home and moved into the spare room at Blake's. It was barely a year after Scott left the family home, when he received the news that his father had passed away in his sleep. It came as a shock to all that knew him; Matt had always maintained a healthy lifestyle and would exercise often. That was something that rubbed off on Jasmine.

Following the death of his father, Scott hit rock bottom and generally stopped caring about anything, least of all himself. The thought of not being able to reconcile with his father was too much to take, so one night while out drinking with his friends, Scott got into it with four other guys. Though he was not a weakling and managing to incapacitate two of them, he was taken down by the remainder. Walker and the other men were arrested and confined. The following morning after his detention, Scott was released pending charges. But before leaving the police station, one of the officers, who knew the troubled youngster and his father, suggested he start thinking about the future and whether he wanted one or not.

It was soon after that point where Scott was reunited with Blake, who'd just completed a four month sentence for assault. Blake was no longer a skinny weakling; his years at the gym changed his outward appearance and not so many would challenge him. Neither of them opted to return to the club and both decided to knuckle down and make something of themselves. They worked odd jobs for a while, until they both got full time employment working for a construction company. They even rented a two bedroom apartment and shared bills and costs.

Scott liked the physical side of the construction job he had, as did Blake; it kept them both fit. Though Walker didn't feel it was for him on a long term basis.

Star Fleet Academy

Several months later and just after he'd turned 18 Scott applied for Star Fleet, and was accepted - much to his surprise. Though he was accepted into the Academy, Walker had no idea where he wanted to direct his energy. That was a problem he'd suffered with since he left home, and why he found himself in trouble. Engineering was a no, he was about as mechanically inclined as a cage full of hamsters, unless of course it was a motorcycle. The idea of flying appealed to him, as did the job of a Security officer. So that was that, as far as his choices went.

His Academy time was sometimes a little turbulent; he wasn't the best Cadet ever, and had no aspirations of being so. One of Scott's vices was not being able to keep his mouth shut at times, those times were usually at the worst times too. He earned a few demerits, but passed with the rest of his classmates and went on to serve.

Post Graduation

Scott's first post was an assignment to the USS Lincoln as one of its security officers. He took the post somewhat seriously, but shirked procedure on the odd occasion and other times he would go too far. It was difficult for him to get the balance right, which would land him in hot water and to receive mentoring on several occasions.

After three years Scott made Lieutenant Junior Grade and was posted to Star Base Alpha. The new assignment did not sit well with Walker at all - he wanted to be out among the stars and not babysitting home. He would consistently apply for transfers to starships or even a facility that was not so near to Earth.

After nine months on the station he got his wish and was posted to the USS Harkland, serving still as a junior security officer. The Harkland posting was by far the one he enjoyed the most; he made a few friends and had the laughs he'd had in the gang, but nothing illegal. After eighteen months he was promoted to full Lieutenant and made Deputy Head of Security.

Scott's life on the Harkland came to a crashing halt when it was discovered that he'd had some involvement in a gambling syndicate. Gambling was against the ship's standing orders, in any fashion of the word, and the Captain felt that it was a breeding ground for contempt. Though no actual proof that Scott took part in the gambling itself, he was guilty of doing nothing about the syndicate and violating the ships standing orders. He was subsequently charged with conduct unbecoming an officer and disobeying a lawful order. Walker was given the choice of court martial or receiving the Captain's award. He chose the latter, and thankfully for him, the Captain was in a good mood that day and therefore quite lenient with Scott. He was demoted one rank and transferred to Star Base Bravo.

Phobias: Confined spaces
Likes: A certain type of lady, wining and dining, the night life scene
Dislikes: Mess and clutter. Situational loose ends
Pet Peeves or Gripes: People who judge others for what they are and not who they are. Though not homosexual himself, Scott despises people with homophobic attitudes
Bad Habits or Vices: Can be very opinionated, can't always keep his mouth shut & this has seen him disciplined more than once
Achievements: Switching his head on and getting his life in order - for the most part, that is
Disappointments: Himself and what he put his parents through in his teens. It is the one true thing he feels any guilt over
Illnesses: None
Strengths: Standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves
Weaknesses: Flying at women like a bull at a gate and not caring about the consequences. Opening his mouth when it is not warranted, could well find himself in trouble regularly
Fears: Losing a loved one. Though he doesn't get along with his family, he fears losing one of them all the same. That comes from the loss of his father and an inability to reconcile with him
Prejudices: Anything to do with Romulans and Cardassians, aside from their outward appearances he sees them as the exact same. Anything they do is met with suspicion from him
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Smart, jeans, shirts and leather jackets and usually boots

Friends: Blake Austin

Personal Paradigm Shifts

Most Painful Experience: The death of his father and the loss of any chance of reconnecting
Best Time: Graduating Star Fleet Academy
Most Crucial Experience: Standing up for Blake in the 9th Grade, helped him realise something about himself
Role Model: His Dad. After Matt's death, Scott realised just how much of a good person his father was. It is his hope that he can be at least half the man he was
