Personal History
Nik was born in Sheffield England to both human parents Paul and Marie. However Nik`s father left after he was just two days old. Nik`s mother was devastated and moved to San Francisco to be with her sister. This was a most stressful time for Niks mother and therefore resulted in his Aunt taking care of him for a month. This resulted in a close bond between Nik and his aunt a bond that caused his mother some heartache and jealousy. After living in San Francisco for two months Niks mother found a apartment for the both of them to live. This is the place Nik still calls home when he is on shore leave.
For the next seven years Nick had a relatively happy childhood. He was well liked and had a large group of friends. However on his seventh birthday he learned of his father’s deed and wished to look for him in order to ask his father why he had abandoned him. Marie was unhappy with this and chose to ignore her sons wishes. Nik resented his mother for this and has never really forgiven her for stopping Nik from finding the answers he desperately wanted. This is when Nik started to have the burning desire to explore and would have a great bearing in his decision to join Star Fleet.
For the next eight years of his life Nick spent most of his time complaining about school and wasting his time in Holo suites and wandering the streets. Over the years he lost most of his friends due to his bad attitude and constant whining of how unfair life was. However he remained close with Sakon a Vulcan boy who had once lived next door to Nick. When the pair reached fifteen they made plans to search for Nicks father. This was to be kept secret from both parents as Nik and Sakon knew, their parent would never allow them to go. Nik managed to bored a shuttle destined for England with his friend and this was the first time in his life he felt like there was some purpose to it. However this did not go to plan as after two months of dead ends left Nick disheartened. He could not find a single shred of evidence that his father was ever alive. Nick chose to stop wallowing in self pity and decided to gain a career in Star Fleet, as it had been his ambition to travel the stars since he could remember. He also secretly believes that space may give him the answers he is searching for.
