In the 22nd century, the Vulcan High Command was the most powerful governmental body on planet Vulcan, as well as the planet's de facto military government.

During the 22nd century, the High Command was an organization responsible for overseeing the Vulcan military, as well as civilian organizations. The High Command was responsible for overseeing Vulcan military forces and civilian organizations, as well as Vulcan's space fleet, diplomatic missions, and scientific research.

History

The Vulcan High Command existed at least as early as the Human year of 1957.

In 2151, the High Command reassigned T'Pol as sub-commander on board Enterprise, NX-01, to act as a "chaperone" for its first mission.
This was a prerequisite for the High Command, in order to provide the Humans with Vulcan star charts, as well as the Klingon linguistic database.

In 2154, the Head of the High Command planned to attack Andoria, tricking the Vulcan High Council into believing that the Andorians were developing
a planet-destroying weapon. After Enterprise thwarted that incident, the High Command was disbanded, ending their diplomatic influence on Earth's decisions.

Affiliated Institutions

  • Vulcan Science Academy: Also known as the Vulcan Science Institute, this is an advanced educational and research institute located on Vulcan.
It is considered a top-tier educational facility, and until 2250, no Vulcan had ever turn down admission.
(Half-Vulcan, half-Human Spock decided to join Starfleet, rather than attend the Vulcan Science Academy.)

  • Vulcan High Council: Body of Elders tasked with protecting the Vulcan people's history.
It was also the body that made the decision for Vulcan to join the United Federation of Planets.
