Vendikar

Vendikar, also known as Eminiar III, is the inhabited third planet in the Eminiar system of the Alpha Quadrant.

This planet was the location of a colony from Eminiar VII, the main planet of its star cluster.

For at least five hundred years, Vendikar had an established government, which they called the Vendikar High Council.

This council had a direct channel to the High Council on Eminiar, though when Captain Kirk visited in 2267, the line hadn't been used for a few centuries.

The Vendikarans fought with the Eminians for at least five hundred years, with conditions agreed to and stipulated upon in an agreement signed by both worlds.

The war was simulated, fought by computer calculations, in which the population paid for the numbers of loss willingly.

When Captain Kirk and the Enterprise faced legitimate threats from the planets' computers, Kirk decided to finally put an end to the whole mess.

Destroying the computers on both Vendikar and Eminiar VII, he gave the two populations an ultimatum: end the war, and start a new age of peace, or continue the war, but this time with their people playing the very real parts of soldiers.

The decision was made to bring in an age of peace, and Federation Ambassadors began their assistance in the rebuilding process.
