- Note: Seniority among Department Heads is determined by rank. Should two Department Heads have equivalent rank, date of promotion determines seniority. Should a Department Head be wounded or otherwise unavailable, the senior ranking person of that department shall become the acting DH. If that person is ranked Lieutenant, Junior Grade or lower, the department's NCOIC will take charge.

Assignment Patches and Uniform Modifications
- Excursion/Bomber Jacket: For away missions or casual wear while on shore leave, the Artemis crew have access to a stylish bomber-style jacket. Available in black or dark grey and with a choice of faux-fleece lining or unlined, the jacket is rugged enough to endure hostile environmental conditions. The Gettysburg patch features either on the bicep or as a larger decal on the jacket's back.
- Ball Cap: Available for use with the jacket or off-duty clothing. Black baseball-style cap with the Gettysburg's name and registry embroidered in gold. CO and FO caps have gold braid on the visor.
