A temporal communicator is a device that can be used to communicate with other time periods.
Temporal communications are considered dangerous to the integrity of time. They would come to be prohibited by the Temporal Prime Directive in the Federation, as communications from the future contributed to the Temporal Cold War. Future benefactors of the Temporal Cold War would send advantages and missions to be carried out, in order to try and get the upper hand.
