Tanuga IV is the inhabited fourth planet in its system, home to the Tanugan people, a highly advanced humanoid species.

It is located on the edge of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

The Tanugan security force, represented by a Chief Investigator, operated from the planet.

One integral part of the research on Krieger waves was located on the planet, with the other part being on a research station in orbit around the planet.
